I loved the movie “Pride and Prejudice!”
George Will’s “commentary” reminded me of the character Mr. Collins in Pride and Prejudice, particularly when he was giving a very long, obnoxious sermon. I looked up the description of Mr. Collins on IMDb, and this is what they said:
William Collins is the cousin of Mr. Bennet.
A clergyman, he is the closest male relation to the Bennet family, and as such stands to inherit Longbourn upon Mr. Bennet’s death. MR. COLLINS IS A POMPOUS, NARROW-MINDED SYCOPHANT WHO IS EXCESSIVELY DEVOTED TO patronizing and flattering to his patroness, Lady Catherine de Bourgh.
George Will is Mr. Collins! His devotion is to his precious GOPe.
