I’m not so certain he hadn’t made some form of commitment, but backed out.
I’m glad the movie will not be made. I’m saddened that Ferrell or anyone else thought it might be funny.
This is written as if this is a fact.
I'd buy that argument 20 years ago (for the rationale you stated), but a person would have to be living in a cave for those 20 years not to realize the devastation of this disease and the toll it takes on the person and their family.
And planning to make a movie is different than making a brief quip (e.g., saying that 'this is an Alzheimer's moment', when you forget something).
I know that you acknowledged that this was a weak argument, and you were just tossing it out as a possibility, but I go with the likelihood that he didn't anticipate the criticism (since all his friends, and like minded liberals, hate Reagan) and beat a hasty retreat.
YAY!
well, I certainly hope there is also a comedy in the works about Michael J. Fox and Parkinsons...
YEAH ... there are much more funny ones about
CANCER
MS
HIV
CHILD ABUSE
real laughers
Finally.
Hopefully he’s said he will leave the country if Trump is elected........
my dad has Alzheimers, the last time I visited him at
the nursing home I asked him “Dad, do you know who I am?” he said “No, but that guy at the desk will tell you”
Now he can go back to being unfunny.
[[but a person would have to be living in a cave for those 20 years not to realize the devastation of this disease and the toll it takes on the person and their family. ]]
Again, I’m not sticking up for him- but many people really are clueless-
[[ but I go with the likelihood that he didn’t anticipate the criticism (since all his friends, and like minded liberals, hate Reagan) and beat a hasty retreat.]]
Oh I’m pretty sure this is the case- the only reason he retreated was because of the heat-
Oh man, that’s gold! I didn’t know!
Dumb idea to begin with, but I acknowledge Ferell’s decision.
I appreciate him doing this.
Not only was it disrespectful to Reagan, but to every person with the same ailment, and their families.
Some comedy.
What’s next, chuckles at the Leper’s expense?
Props, my Royal Irish Butt! Only a totally depraved person would have considered doing this for even an instant. No props! Ferrell is evil. I suppose we should pray for him, but I can’t right now. He’s a total disgrace to the human race.
Why not a comedy about Bill Clinton’s rapes?
Hillary’s drunkenness?
Obama’s gay sex romps in Chicago’s bath houses?
And who wrote the script? Time to boycott, shame and call them bigots, racists and general ashholes.
However, darned near everyone on the Sinatra forum from Nancy Sinatra on down is a flaming lib and they all worship Obama. Occasionally one of them will write "the only thing I didn't like about Frank was that he turned conservative in his later years" (as if Frank would give a rat's behind what some loser on a message board thought about him).
Once the subject turned to Ronald Reagan, and someone mentioned that he was regarded as a terrible father by some of his children. I posted that often "great men" are so busy doing the thing that makes them great that they sometimes don't have as much time for their families as they'd like. I mentioned reading that Charlton Heston found when he researched some of the historical figures he'd played how much time they spent away from home and how seldom they saw their families. At that point, the forum began to make fun of both Heston and Reagan and their affliction with Alzheimer's. I posted that I was shocked that they would make fun of people with such a condition. They pretty much said those guys deserved it. (Nancy did not take part in that discussion). I seldom look in over there unless it is to get news about a new Sinatra release.
The thought of making a comedy film about Regan's battle with Alzheimer's seems too cruel and tacky to contemplate, but libs are pretty ugly people. After all, they celebrated over at DU when Rush Limbaugh's mother died.
I’m sorry but I actually smiled at that. God bless him.
thanks, but it was just a joke, dad is 88 and sharp as a tack
Wouldn’t be the first time an actor assassinated a republican president.
