Not even sure if it’s a ‘break up’ song, but it was my anthem a couple years back when shaking loose a man who simply needed to GO!

This one, from the spring of 1952, definitely belongs on this thread. Fats Domino is playing the piano.

Howdy, Kathy.
Been a good visit with your brother? Have y’all made any headway on The List?

A “howdy” to him from TN. :-)

This is a break up song of a different type. (Note: keep your kleenix handy):

Don't it Make Your Brown Eyes Blue - Crystal Gayle (Lyrics by Richard Leigh)

We all know the song, but some may not know what it is about. The writer, Richard Leigh wrote the song in dedication to his best friend, one whom he had known for years and the end was coming. It seems his friend contracted a disease and the end was approaching. His friend was his dog and the disease was cataracts, which turned his brown eyes blue.

I heard that story at a Guy Clark show (he was friends of Richard Leigh). The punch line of the story was from Richard, who after hearing Gayles version said he never had the heart to tell her it was about his dog.

Also interesting that Without You was actually written by Pete Ham and Tom Evans of Badfinger.

Great song. One which to be honest......... I never really paid attention to the lyrics except for: "You like to ball in the morning and doncha come back till late at night"

well, I was only 13 and thought it was pretty risqué.

Another day of dog-sitting and a surprise!

I was moving across the dining room to open a blind and stepped in some dog poop...BAD DOG! Neither dog would admit doing it but both looked guilty.

Lovely weather here, I did some shopping today at Dollar Tree, good stuff there if you know what to shop for. I buy laundry soap, toothpaste, light bulbs and other misc. items. You gotta know what to get cuz some is just plain junk.

How wuz your day?

Long John Baldry: "Let the Heartaches Begin"

One of the early Tony Macaulay & John McLeod tunes. The British recording industry decided to "tame" Baldry, which was a mistake.
