I graduated from the DPD academy in May 1986 and would just be finishing 30 years now if I had stayed. I would definitely be taking that retirement now.

As it was, I stayed another 8 years. Only thing I miss is El Taquito restaurant and Whataburgers.

Yeah Whataburgers are very good. Can't remember the guy's name who started there as a teenager and eventually worked his way up to finally become an owner of several franchises. Needless to say he is a multi-millionaire today.

Believe me, you might be retiring now if you hadn't left, but police face more instances of alcoholism than any other profession, I once read. So I think you made the right choice in leaving.
