If Cruz wins the nomination and lose the general I will own it. We have a chance to nominate the most conservative nominee since Calvin Coolidge. I will vote for Trump if he wins the nomination, but he will not be the conservative we need to win.
//We have a chance to nominate the most conservative nominee since Calvin Coolidge.//
Oh BS. Cruz isn’t nearly as conservative as you people claim. His tactics during the primary is proof of that. Cruz is out for Cruz and his own ego while pretending to be Mr. Conservative and Mr. Christian.
Trump is who we need to win because WE NEED TO WIN and we need a businessman, not a career politician.
He isn't a REAL Conservative of any stripe at all an d NOTHING at all like Coolidge !
Trump is NOT a liar, a fraud, nor a fake, and he's actually MORE Conservative that Cruz shall ever be. He is also the ONLY candidate who can and shall beat Hillary!
Cruz is worse than OBAma
Newsflash....the country doesn’t want a conservative. We’re outnumbered by the takers, and Cruz’ “message/sermon” is not what they want to hear, sadly. You definitely need to get out more, lol.
“We have a chance to nominate the most conservative nominee since Calvin Coolidge.”
Do you really think Ted would be losing by Millions of votes if he we’re truly “the most conservative” candidate in the race? Really?
Open your eyes. The man is being roundly rejected by Republican voters for a reason. He’s not all he’s cracked up to be, and voters see it. So should you.
Gee, that makes us all feel so much better.
Hey, I have an idea!
How about we run the best candidate in the field?
How about we run the best candidate, a man who can make demographic inroads that Ted Cruz could only dream of?
How about we run the best candidate and actually create an inclusive, principled "big tent" lkike the leadership is always talking about, and in doing so relegate the Democrat party to minority status for years to come?
How about we run the best candidate, who already has almost twice the delegates if Cruz, in addition over 3 million votes more cast for him than for Ted Cruz?
How about we run the best candidatee who is the clear choice of the People, who merits the nomination hands down?
If you somehow think the dynamic is suddenly going to change, or unicorns will start farting skittles that make the GOP electorate forget everything that has happened over the last year, then you're so detached from political reality that you've become an unwitting dupe of the corrupt GOPe.
Vote Trump
I hate to break this to you, but Cruz can’t win a general election, on his best day. Being the “most conservative” is not a claim that wins you a national election. It may win you a conservative district or a conservative state, but it won’t win you a national election... not in and of itself.
Wake up, the Republican party, with the sole exception of a sitting war time president, and even then couldn’t win by 2.5% of the vote, has not won the popular vote for president in 28 years. And in every single one of those elections, the Republican was the most conservative candidate on the ballot. Yes, they may not been as conservative as most folks here would like but given the choice on election day they were always the more conservative option, and guess what? They lost.
This idea that the “most conservative” guy can win a national election, with that being their sole credential is idiotic. Yes, Reagan was conservative, but he also had presence, character, charm and wit.. He didn’t run around in 1980 or 1984 saying “I’m the most conservative guy”.... If that’s all you got as your argument you lose a national election.
Cruz cant win in the primary, among republican, and yes even among self identified conservative voters, Cruz can’t win. Cruz backers laid that whole idiotic argument that Trump can only win open primaries... Yet he just took 6 primaries by about 60% all in closed primary states, and states that represent 25% of the US population.
Cruz can’t win a general election, and never could. Hate to be the bearer of that reality to you, but that’s the stone cold truth. Cruz in a general is basically another Rovesque type of election where a handful of states are declared the battleground and each side prays they have the better GOTV.... that’s not how you grow and build a party and it sure isn’t any way to work for a win. That model concedes your weakness out of the gate and if thats the best a candidate has to try to win, they are a pathetically weak candidate.
“he (Trump) will not be the conservative we need to win.”
But he is the AMERICAN we need to win.
I have made no secret of the fact that I prefer Cruz and that I'm not sure Trump can be trusted. But unless something totally outrageous happens, I fully intend to vote for our nominee in November, whether it's Cruz or Trump.
What in the sam hill has gotten into everybody this election???
