Ted Cruz is to make a sudden attempt to keep his presidential campaign alive by making Carly Fiorina his running mate.
He is to announce the move in Indiana this afternoon - the day after a humiliation in the five north-eastern primaries, which were all won convincingly by Donald Trump.
He promised a 'major announcement' at his afternoon rally in Indianapolis, as the candidate tries to set Indiana as the next major battleground and Trump takes a victory lap after his Tuesday night electoral romp.
Sources told Reuters it would be making Fiorina his running mate.

What a pair - Carly with her preachy mom voice and Cruz with his preachy preacher voice.
Will she be remembered in history as Former Presidential Candidate or Former Vice President Candidate??
This is the bestest thing that ted cruz and his campaign could come up with?
Have you seen that face? And Fiorina’s face is nothing to brag about either.
Apparently....
Isn’t that contrary to election rules — you can’t offer a VP slot (any position) before becoming the nominee? Not sure if it’s true but something I recall hearing in the past.
Meanwhile John Kasich is vetting Ronald McDonald for his VP.
He’s doing this before California? Maybe thinking it would help him in California? I think Snarly Carly’s policies and actions at HP were primarily in CA, and it turned out to be a hot mess. I wonder how popular she is there.
Meanwhile Trump absolutely KILLS it with this speech;
Donald J. Trump Foreign Policy Speech

Carly has a lot of baggage beyond HP and her husband swapping. Most recently - What happened to the investigation of the megabucks Carly got from the Cruz PAC/campaign? What happened to the connection between these megabucks and supposed payments to the flirty former Cruz aide who later went to work for Carly as an assistant?
And this move is supposed to HELP him?????????????????
ROFLMAO
Trump is loving it. He’s already tweeting derogatory stuff Carly said about Cruz on the campaign trail, stealing their thunder before the official announcement is even made.
where will Kasich supporters go now that Cruz has betrayed their candidate.
i-Carly left the sweepstakes early.
At this point, what does she bring to the table—Other than a vagina?
Doesn’t Ted Cruz have to be the actual nominee before he starts talking about VP pick..he lost five states yesterday by a huge margin, how the heck does he think he has the nomination locked that he can name a VP pick, and Carly Fiorina of all people..he says he’s not establishment yet he picks an Amnesty supporter who got 2 percent of the vote
There’s an old saying.
Share your happiness and you double the joy.
Share your sorrow and you cut it in half.
The saying for this situation is:
Stand by yourself and your shame may grow.
Join with another loser, and you’ll ensure it.
I’m guessing that in the General Election, Fiorina would be a deal-breaker. Cruz’s popularity would have to be off the charts, such a high favorability rating that he’d have unilateral support no matter who he chose. Problem is that he’s not there now, and Trump swept the Primaries last night. In order for Cruz to even get the nomination, Trump would have to fall short of the 1237 delegates needed, the matter would need to go to a Contested Convention, and...in light of the gains Trump has made so far, the RNC would have to select Cruz. If you look at the projected numbers for the next 5 states, Trump looks positioned to take them all. Perhaps two of the states will be won by modest margins, but the remainder are looking like another series of defeats for Cruz. He has his own likability issues...IF he got the nomination, common sense would dictate that he would pick the most charismatic running mate possible to balance his own shortcomings in the image department. But with Fiorina, you still have the woman with Hewlett Packard in her past, you still have the woman who was thrown off of McCain’s campaign, you still have the woman who fell to the earliest thinning of the herd among the Republican Primary contenders. It’s looking like it will be a Trump / Clinton race, and there is less info about who she would pick as a running mate. I know how Republicans feel about Clinton. A lot of Democrats feel the same way. But the difference if, for example it came down to a Cruz/Fiorina match versus Clinton and someone like Elizabeth Warren as her V.P., is that Clinton...as despised as she may be in some corners...would crush Cruz. As of right now, many in his own party don’t like him. I don’t see the possibility of a single Democrat or Independent voting for him. That means that Republicans would have to turn out in record numbers to cast their votes, and Democrats...who have been lax at getting to the polls during the Primaries...would have to stay home and not vote. A lot of Democrats who are saying “I won’t vote for Clinton” are going to be changing their tune. Trump has more of a populist following that Cruz could ever hope for. And my guess is that no matter how the Republican establishment may be floating alternatives to Trump as the nominee, it’s either put him in there or watch Cruz crash and burn, no matter who he runs with, but especially if it’s Fiorina.
