She’s purely a blocking action in California. He thinks she has the connections to put a final denial in place in the biggest prize of all, California.
Does that mean he’s given up on Indiana? Perhaps.
But, if he loses Indiana, then Californians will be asking themselves if they want to even vote for a campaign that has already lost just so they can have an all-out war at the convention, divide the Clinton opposition, and bring about the November loss to the Clintons.
Fiorina already lost once in California, but I don’t know how a plan to blow up Clinton opposition is going to cause her to win.
I think you nailed the reason for the pick.
Trump will trump this when he announces Susana Martinez as his VP.
Trump should start playing himself up as the unity candidate—the only one that can avoid a contested convention.
Do you want a contested convention, which will hand the White House to Hillary? Or, do you want to go into the convention unified, so we can focus on beating Hillary in the fall?
She has no ability to move the CA primary and as a VP pick, if he were to steal the nomination, she’s a waste of a pick. What state can she deliver? He made it sound like it would be earth shaking news. A Pence endorsement would have been better.
This is just a stunt to grab the news cycle. I hope it gets the 10 minutes it deserves.
Fiorina won in a California primary, just not in the general election, which we won’t be winning in the fall either.
Fiorina is a good V.P. for any candidate to help battle Hillary. The “war on women” attacks get blunted, and she can attack Hillary as hard as she wants without being accused of being sexist. She may peel off some voters who are non-political and just wanted “the first women president” but really dislike Hillary personally.
