It appears that Trump is on track to achieve around 60 per cent of the vote in all five primary states tonight. He will almost certainly be well over 50% in all of them. With two other "contenders" in the race, that is quite an achievement.
But these wins were UNDERSTATED.
Remember a couple months ago when many were saying that Trump only did well in OPEN primaries, when Independents and Democrats were allowed to vote?
Well all five primaries tonight were CLOSED to Republicans only! Democrats were not allowed to vote in any of them. Rhode Island did allow Independents to pull a Republican ballot but any registered Democrat was not allowed. The other four states, you had to be a registered Republican.
That includes New York from last week by the way, where Trump had 60 per cent of that vote as well.
The significance of this is that in November, we will see millions of Independents and disaffected Democrats crossing over to vote for Donald Trump.
The notion that Trump "can't win" a general election against Shrillary Clinton has been shattered with Trump's very strong victories in six Republican only primaries over the past two weeks.
The race now moves to Indiana next week which will truly be the last stand of Cruz and Kasich. If Trump wins there, he'll be over 1,000 delegates and will be in glide path to nomination on the first ballot.
You Cruz maniacs just keep being wrong and wrong and wrong over and over again. Your candidate didn’t even get second place in five states and didn’t even break 15% some of them. He is finished, he is toast, and he is not going to be the nominee no matter what else he tries to spin
That’s because there’s a lot more registered Democrats in those States. So how is Ted Cruz going to even have a chance when he can’ t get more than 15% in many of these states? He didn’t even take second in any of the five states tonight
I am so proud of the majority Republican base tonight! They love their vote! Their voice is nothing to ignore! it feels great to be a Republican tonight!
I can’t wait to vote for Trump in California! My entire family, my friends, folks at work (IT industry) we all love Trump, vote Trump, California is Trump Country! I may be over the limit, but I am sending another $100. Sweep! Sweep! Sweep the States and then sweep the rats out!
Cruz is a ratfink.
Trumps vile, harsh rhetoric fueled him to victory! < /S >
++++
Gravity will bring Trump down. Felito just needs to embrace Trump in an oily bear hug and smother him with love, like that photo op kissing his daughter.
“You live in a dream world. Both Clinton and Sanders got more votes in every state than Trump with the exception of Delaware where Trump got a couple of thousand more than Sanders who got wiped out by Clinton.”
CT votes:
Hillary: 116,000 with 70% reporting.
Trump: 99,000 with 70% reporting.
Add Cruz’s 20,000 and he’s ahead of Hillary.
YOU don’t know what you’re talking about.
With those numbers CT is in play.
Doesn’t mean Trump wins, but it DOES mean Hillary will have to devote time and money there.
” Trump is NOT going to win any blue States. Get that through your skull.”
You’re an illiterate idiot with zero numbers or facts, get that through your skull.
It’s Tuesday and it’s awful quiet around here...
As predicted
It means nothing. There are a lot more registered Democrats in the states than Republicans and these were closed primaries. In the general election Trump will be getting many of these votes ...
Fantastic!!!! Looking forward to watching my Canadian friends’ heads exp!ode tomorrow!
I think he does, because I certainly know what I’m talking about and I agree with him
from your lips to God’s ears.....
Dude. You just ignore the fact that Sanders got as many votes as Clinton. 220,000+ votes for D, 160,000 votes for R. Comprende?
“There are plenty of dem voters who would rather vote for Trump. Unlike
ol lyin ted, Trump will have plenty of crossover appeal in the general.”
Exactly, especially here in the northeast.
“You cant forcast off of the primary.”
Agree, but when a republican, with 3 or four others in the race is getting more actual votes than a democrat, it’s very telling, especially in blue or purple states.
The truth is, all the polls show it, tens of thousands, millions, of people, much more than 2012 are coming out to vote for Trump.
Oh really? So based on tonight’s votes Trump wins CT in the general election? You got money you would like to bet on that?
Then there are the independents who will be voting in the general election, but were not allowed to vote in the closed primaries.
Those same Democrats and Independents are going to put the House and Senate back in Democrat hands but that’s alright because The Donald says he can deal with Chuck Schumer.
So what’s your point, that Ratfael would do better in the general?
Ted Cruz? Lol. Cruz is primary history. Forget Cruz. Yes there are more D’s than R’s. No Trump will not win CT, Maryland, Delaware, RI. These are truths which affect allocation or resources and you can’t get off the I hate Cruz bandwagon.
My point was written up thread. It goes like this. Cruz and Kasich need to get out and get behind Trump. Trump and his snowflakes need to forget about the Northeast. And the election will be won or lost in Florida, Ohio, Va. and the small swung States. That’s the point.
What does that say then, for the chances of the Republican second and third place guys beating Hillary or Sanders??
“Dude. You just ignore the fact that Sanders got as many votes as Clinton. 220,000+ votes for D, 160,000 votes for R. Comprende?”
Dude, you forget that Bernie won’t be there in Nov, and his supporter hate Hillary,
Capishe?
Try again.
