When I don’t have a grill, like now, I cook salmon like this: smear the steaks with a nice handful of brown sugar, add salt and pepper and a drop or two (no more!) liquid smoke, and cook in a pan with coconut oil. Skin side down, then after, sugar side down. Have one steak that you cut every once in a while to check for doneness so you can take it off the fire the second it’s done. No overcooking! I will eat the volunteer cut slice of salmon. This is a great recipe, tastes sooooo good and is so easy.

That sounds good - thanks for the recipe!

We normally buy (unless someone catches one) whole Salmon here (which is too much for me). Haven’t had Salmon steaks in a long time - will buy one and try this.

If I don’t have a grill, I’ve done a half fish in the oven basted with butter a little dill, pepper and lemon slices (haven’t made this in years but I think that’s how I used to make it).
