Aye, there's the rub. I try to go by scripture, first and foremost. Then the question arises of whether my interpretation is correct, or whether you would even agree with the Bible I use (I'm Roman Catholic). Either way, even if you aren't, we might find we agree more often than not because of that scriptural basis.

I'm not much at quoting, but I recall "Go ye not on the words of men, for they are vain", so I prefer the primary sources, or at least as close as I can get. I can't read the Greek, my already inadequate Latin has corroded away, and I can't read Hebrew, so that leaves me with an older Bible to go by.
