Sorry, but “DEEP DISH PIZZA” is a CHICAGO made up thing; it isn’t REAL pizza. There is NOTHING like that in all of Italy!

And yes, I’ve eaten it, but no, I don’t like it much. SORRY.

Wanna brag about something “CHICAGO”? The Science & Industry Museum is FANTASTIC, early architecture is/was glorious, the parks are beautiful, The Mag Mile is MUCH better ( with the exception of losing I.Magnin and Bonwits )than it was in the early ‘70s, and the various yacht clubs, right in the city, are better than the ones in NYC. :-)

LOL many of us love our FAUX pizza ;) It is a completely different experience from thin or hand-tossed—which we eat with fingers ;)

Well, thank you for all the nice things you said about Chicago...I was kidding, tho lots people from elsewhere do love the pizza!! Oh, I had no idea the poppy seed hotdog buns were so regional & special. I love them :), but don’t eat them that often—summer thing. Eh hotdogs are a very regional thing. As you know, putting ketchup on a hotdog in Chicago is taboo LOL.

Yes, we have some nice museums, parks are glorious~in spring and summer especially, and I love the architecture...Love the architectural boat tours...learn something new every time.

Daughter had a friend who said the only thing he would do on the Mag mile is run it LOL...Obviously, he does not know the City. Ah, I haven’t thought of Bonwit Teller for years. Memory lane...Best & Co, Bonwits, and sadly, Fields :(

Best's was a NYC store and m y family shopped there fore generations. I actually cried giant tears, when it closed; especially because I didn't have any children then and knew that I would never be able to buy a child of mine, anything from there....after three generations of my family doing so.

That corner was known as the children's triangle, brcause mothers and grandmothers used to go from DePina's to Bests to Saks 5tth to buy their kiddos' clothes; Bloomindale's was for children's shoes and "the help"'s uniforms ONLY, when I was a bitty kiddo in NYC.

Bonwits was also a NYC store and it broke my heart when that shop folded too. I bought ALL of my furs at Bonwits, in Chicago, when we lived there. They also has spectacular hat and purse departments.

I. Magnins is California store and Lakin et Cie was on the first floor. They had MAGNIFICENT jewelry ( also great Estate sale jewelry! )and they did wonderful special orders too. I also bought many a hat there and their designer section was really nice!

Yes, Field's going out of business is just awful! :-(

Oh the memories I have re that store too!

Ketchup on a hot dogs, in NYC is blasphemous and a "sin" against the hot dog! LOL

Yes, not only do I miss sidewalks and taxis and my ability to look at Lake Michigan from most of my apartment's windows, but I miss, TERRIBLY, poppyseed hot dog buns and Vienna Polish sausages. :-)

We did live there for 17 years, so I do appreciate a lot about Chicago ( just NOT the *cough* "pizza" ) and do miss what it was like, when I was there and when the kiddos still lived there.
