My guess is drugs or drug runners were involved.
This has a cartel feel to it.
Drug dealers of the South American variety have been known to wipe out entire families to “send a message”.
*Someone* in this family had an ongoing drug debt or was otherwise involved with drugs.
Could be that someone in the drug trade was convinced that someone in the family was a snitch and moved to take care of the problem.
Or it could be something no one expects.
When the mentally ill go violently off, there is no telling what the trigger was.
Maybe his bacon and eggs told him to go kill people.
I agree, in Mexico it is not uncommon for entire families to be murdered. Actually happened a little South of me a couple years ago.
It is possible someone else did it of course but sure sounds like Cartel work.

Perhaps not. Although it has been reported that the family found some mexicans growing pot and living in the woods behind the house last year.
