I think Twitter is a big part of the problem for everyone these days. If you’re “published,” even at an outlet like Townhall.com, someone is reading (if not editing) and can say, “Please send us a column you wrote when you were a little more sober.” However, with Twitter, it’s straight from the fevered brain to the Interwebs.
(I say this as someone who has FReeped while drunk, but that reaches a very limited audience.)
I think you are perceptive. Twitter removes editorial and review filters - hence, this effect. Same thing with Mr Trump.
