“In 2008, the New Yorker writer Claire Hoffman asked Prince what he thought of social issues like gay marriage and abortion. Reported Hoffman of his response: “Prince tapped his Bible and said, ‘God came to earth and saw people sticking it wherever and doing it with whatever, and he just cleared it all out. He was, like, ‘Enough.’””

I have no doubt he said something like that. The issue is what else he stood for and did. I lived through Roger’s era here in the Mpls. are and remember them quite well. Additionally, a close friend was a drummer in the whole Paisley Park scene and he could really inform the Atlantic author.

Like I said, Prince said a lot of things. He was a strange dude and was no authority on morality by any standard I’d recognize.
