More than 167,000 people have signed a pledge to boycott Target after the retailer said it would welcome transgender customers to use any bathroom or fitting room that matches their gender identity.
The boycott pledge was started by the conservative American Family Association (AFA).
"Target's policy is exactly how sexual predators get access to their victims," AFA President Tim Wildmon said in an open letter. "This means a man can simply say he 'feels like a woman today' and enter the women's restroom...even if young girls or women are already in there."
Wildmon urged people to sign the boycott pledge, claiming the policy "poses a danger to wives and daughters." He also urged people to complain about the policy on Target's Facebook page.
He suggested that Target should install separate unisex bathrooms instead of giving all genders access to facilities designated for women or men.
Target clarified its position on transgender bathrooms in a statement on Tuesday.
"We welcome transgender team members and guests to use the restroom or fitting room facility that corresponds with their gender identity," the retailer said in the statement. "Everyone deserves to feel like they belong. And youll always be accepted, respected and welcomed at Target."

What if I decided I was 6’8” and 120 pounds and I bought a pair of 28-inch-waist jeans, then brought them back and accused Target of mislabeling their products because the jeans did not fit (I am NOT 6’8” and my shadow weighs more than 120 pounds)?
Oh my the virtue signaling can’t be beat.
If this actually leads to the problems Wildmon fears, then the scandals should soon begin, and since no conservative shops Target anyhow, it will happen to liberals which should be a-ok?
Isn’t simplism wonderful...
And in the meantime I would advise tell your chillun be careful around strangers. Even in the church building.
I bought my copy on Amazon. Your local library may have it.
The real enemy is Satan and he’s leading you right down his path to a judgment of hell.
The only option is to do what we’ve been calling for over the past decade, namely, to buy locally (mom and pop stores), bank locally, work locally (of possible).
The local store is not usually PC. And you don’t feed the globalist beasts.
Check with Roger Stone.
Trumps man.
Jedi.
Perhaps it is time for our side to feel “threatened and afraid” and demand a “safe space” to answer nature’s call!
There are lots of single unisex bathrooms today. My female friends say they have no problem with that save the lid is always up and yellow liquid is everywhere!
While we all worry about this bathroom legislation, the liberal progressive left is very busy making new rules and spending tax dollars.
Satan doesn’t lead me anywhere. My point is to use their own tactics against them. The waste of man-hours in restocking, assisting etc. could push Target to reconsider their policy.
You are so deluded... Satan is leading you everywhere.
Better yet, “I feel like my $2500.00 weekly paycheck is actually only $1.00, therefore, I don’t pay income taxes.”
It’s the latest shiny object meant to distract “conservatives” (and in some cases, get them to do antisocial things) while they do actual harm in other places.
... Pennsylvania, man was arrested and charged after a 10-year-old girl told her mother that ...
Well fine, that kind of thing was always illegal... and being watched by a lesbian should have the same results, no?
Prosecuting pre-crime can have consequences none of us want.
Do parents really want their young daughters to be in a restroom with a 300 pound woman who cut off her breasts and is wearing men’s clothing and a hormone-induced beard and who looks like Chaz Bono?
Do parents really want their young sons to be in a restroom with a man with hormone-induced breasts who is wearing high heels, lipstick, and a dress and who looks like Bruce/Caitlyn Jenner?
Really?
I might visit Target just to see if the fuss had any effect. Probably won’t, or might increase the business they have with liberals. I’ll try to observe what the clientele looks like and if it has changed.
It’s a so-so store, good for some things, not so good for others, but at any rate nobody’s going to dragoon me on their bandwagon.
If there had been no fuss, there would be no reason for me to investigate.
Why sure. We have the DNA tests ready by the door so you don’t have to wait too long to get into the room after you have proved your gender to our satisfaction.
Molestation and propositioning has always been verboten in the public loos. These modern rages don’t change that.
And children would always be wise to be wary around strangers. The strangers who look weird may not be the worst dangers; the strangers who look normal may be.
Weren’t conservatives already boycotting Target for supporting the gay agenda?
In liberal-land they give them diet tips.
At some point the “quiet American majority” needs to quit giving in to this ridiculous political correct nonsense. I specifically blame Christians of whom I am one. We have become hand-sitters who stand idly by and do nothing as the country declines further and further into the abyss. It certainly is a shame what we are becoming. Will anyone take a stand? I do not call for hatred. I call for intestinal fortitude on issues that we KNOW ARE WRONG. The whole world isn’t gray. There are black and white issues. This decision by Target could subject wives and daughters to harm. Even if we assume that transgendered people are no threat, what is to prevent a pedophile or rapist from playing the “sexual association card” as a Trojan Horse for access into the bathroom? Is Target going to hire extra security personnel to stand in the bathroom? I have an article on my new website about this. I agree in calling for a boycott, but beyond that I think we should sell Target Stock, we should write letters to the editor, we should picket if need be. All I ask is for people to stand up for what they know is right and correct.
