I can't speak for other parts of the country, but Donald Trump's support in Wisconsin came from the areas with the poorest and least educated GOP voters. The Donald also drew large numbers of unionista Democrats who are/were opposed to Gov. Walker and his conservative reforms.
Trump is despised by 80% of Wisconsin GOP voters.

Why is that?
Romney/Ryan lost WI to Obama 53% to 46%. Ryan did not help very much being on the ticket in WI. WI has gone Dem in the last 7 Presidential elections. I have no doubt that Hillary will carry WI in 2016.
Cruz wouldn’t win WI, either.
