Your logic escapes me here: how can you make the huge leap from transsexuals to pedophiles? Gays, lesbians, etc. have been on this earth since the time of Christ and before. Chances are that one in twenty or one in ten of the close people in your family is LGBT. And sooner or later we must confront that. And the question becomes: when I meet this person at a family barbeque, what should I do? Should I shun them or treat them like the rest of the family? Can a man explain in words why he is attracted to a woman? Personally, I cannot. And it's probably because this is beyond our sense of reason: sexual attraction is a primal desire, like my need for food, warm, and shelter. So if I don't understand my own sexual attraction to women, how can I understand or criticize the sexual attraction of one adult to another adult? I'm not making light of this. These issues befuddle the brain. But in my own life I've learned that the issues clarify themselves fairly quick when the deviance from "normal" occurs within your own Christian family. |
