Republican Donald Trump is calling on his remaining rivals to drop their presidential bids, saying neither Ted Cruz nor John Kasich has a path to the nomination.
"They should both drop out of the race so that the Republican Party can unify!" Trump tweeted Thursday evening....

Different times. They didn’t have primary elections back then.
Yes, those first 6 are all GOP Establishment tools.
So Cruz should set loose the inner liberal in Trump? I don’t think so. Cruz can at least keep Trump from settling the mentally ill in the wrong bathrooms. Because Trump supporters sure can not be trusted to keep a check on Trumps inner liberal self.
That would make it easier.
Amen to that.
Why? Trump will get to 1400 they say so it really doesn’t matter.
What happens if Kasich is still in the race and Trump still doesn't have the 1237, will he sue?
I'd prefer all candidates run to the end, including the others, who have suspended their candidacy. One of them was my first choice, but was not a candidate, when I got to vote.
I'll vote for Trump, if he is the nominee with a majority of delegate votes at the convention. The problem you have is trying to get someone with a plurality to be your nominee, before the vote of delegates even happens.
I think the GOPe could potentially prepare for a Kasich Write-In Campaign ala Murkowski in Alaska.
Isn’t that exactly what Cruz told Kasich to do on April 5. Why was it ok for Cruz to ask Kasich that and now it is wrong for Trump to ask that of those with no path to 1237?
Cruz : Good for me but not for thee.
Don’t the remaining states’ voters have a right to their say? And after they do, what if Trump still doesn’t have enough delegates?
He really is the presumptive nominee whether you like it or not because he is the ONLY one with a path to the nomination.
By that “logic” all 16 should still be in the race.
“He really is the presumptive nominee whether you like it or not because he is the ONLY one with a path to the nomination.”
He really is not the presumptive nominee because he has a reasonable chance of not getting the nomination.
He is the ONLY one with a path to the nomination on the first ballot.
My wishes are besides the point.
Well, maybe you should. The only reason Lincoln was elected to the presidency is because the democrat party at the time was deeply divided. In fact all parties were deeply divided to the point the predecessor to the GOP destroyed itself. And he won the presidency with less than 40% of the vote.
That will not happen for Cruz with the GOP committing political suicide. Hillary will skate in. Listen to the news. Even the GOPers are starting to recognize this. They’re beginning to say unite behind Trump and help him win or lose to Hillary. Also, the senate is at risk. We need to wake up and get this done or the country goes to hell.
Oh, yeah, and then the unpopular Lincoln win led to a nasty civil war.
That's how conventions work. Of course trump has announced that he will have 1400 delegates, so why scream so loudly for Cruz to drop out.
Trump wants every Republican voter to anoint him as the nominee, before the vote at the convention even happens. This would place him with a plurality of delegates as the nominee. That would be wrong. That would be a violation of every rule.
Trump keeps screaming about the rules being violated, but he is calling for just that, a gross violation of the process.
Even the Democrat convention delegates can pick someone other than Hillary or Sanders.
I have a feeling that with the negatives generated in our process, and the Dem process, that the Dem nominee will be Biden, Warren, Gore, Kerry, anyone but Hillary or Sanders.
Once that is done, American voters will vote for who they consider to be the least offense, and we will be faced with a socialist President, again. I will vote for Trump if he is our nominee, but I fear that the scenario above will happen.
“More than Trump who is okay with grown men in bathrooms with little girls.”
Trump may (wrongfully) be assuming that PARENTS (remember them?) will protect their own children.
I guess that’s no longer in vogue.
Oh, the sweet irony!
Sure did...
