NBC's Hallie Jackson reports Cruz has changed his focus to Pennsylvania and making a play for the state's unbound delegates. Jackson, the network's Cruz correspondent, said even if Cruz has a third place finish in Pennsylvania's Republican primary, he'll win more than half the delegates.
"It's very telling that's Ted Cruz tonight is not in Brooklyn or Manhattan or any of the boroughs or state. He's in Pennsylvania," reported Jackson.
"He'll be in Philly for his watch party tonight," Jackson said. "That's indicative of where he and his campaign see this race going, to Pennsylvania, where they are looking to make a play for these unbound delegates. Even if they come in a distant third, a top campaign aide tells me, they will still, they believe, pick up more than half the delegates there."
"They're looking at more than 30," Jackson said.
Pennsylvania allots 71 delegates in the Republican primary; 54 of which are unbound.

Article: "Cruz aide says they're hoping to maybe get some delegates in Pennsylvania, in the same way Kasich's campaign says he'll be the nominee."
Of the states voting on April 26, Connecticut and Rhode Island are proportional, while Maryland and Delaware are winner-take-all. Pennsylvania has this unusual system. IMHO, since Trump will likely win all states, he should concentrate most on Connecticut and Rhode Island, as to win as many delegates as possible.
won’t matter, there won’t be a 2nd ballot, and Cruz is sooo far behind that even if he got all 54 unbound delegates to vote for him, it won’t change anything. But, I doubt if he can get 54 people to vote for a loser such as himself.
Creepy. Totally banana republic. The obvious question is why bother to have a vote. This tells us how much respect he has for he voice of the people.
Another Justice Roberts.
Delegates who folks vote for are beginning to be known. Vote for Trump delegates first, then if there are not 3 Trumps, then vote for the ones who say they will vote for the winner of the CD. this should slow Cruz’s fenageling a little.
I’m a Trump supporter, by the way. Just pointing out Pennsylvania’s unusual primary and delegate allocating system.
Cruz isn’t going to do anything, there will be no second ballot, and all this cheating and lying he has done will send him back to Texas...
He has nothing to offer the voters to back him, what he talks about he has taken from Trump, he’s like a ‘parrot’ Polly wants a Cracker? He has NO ideas of his own, and the people are getting tired of his obuma mantra: “it’s Bushe’s fault=it’s Trump’s fault”...even Hannity got put out with Cruz, he simply isn’t all put together to lead this country...the Senate doesn’t like him, nobody likes him, and I can see why!!!
Hey Ted, time for you to go back to that career government day job you have been ignoring
Cruz’s death spiral of denial continues. Ted’s a mess.
It’s soooo sh$ttty. Why even bother with the primary? It’s a big state - why the un-democratic process? Sounds great for the insider delegates looking to get wined and dined but that serves no larger purpose.
I wish it was like Texas where the top 2 have a runoff. I think Cruz would win every state except NY
Precisely. He may be a great debater but he is a lousy human being
LOL!
That is all irrelevant now after New York.
Trump is the presumptive nominee and Cruz is an asterisk, like Kasich. They are mathematically eliminated.
Its time to unite behind the only viable candidate, if we are to win in November. Thats Donald Trump. The power now is in unity. All Aboard!!!
Cheers!
Cruz thought he could win some delegates in NY also.
