Full Title: Meet the 11-year-old girl whose letter to President Obama led to plans for the first woman on US currency in more than a century
A woman will feature on US currency for the first time in more than 100 years - thanks to the efforts of an 11-year-old girl.
Sofia, from Cambridge in Massachusetts, had written to President Barack Obama in 2014 after a school project on historic American heroes.
'I realized no women had their face on our currency, so I went home and wrote the letter,' she told WCVB.
The schoolgirl demanded to know why there were no women on US bills, as 'if there were no women, there wouldn't be men'.

Sheesh, talk about a feel-good libspeak .
I'm sure her dear mother had nothing to do with her writing the letter.
And that’s the way democracy really works, boys and girls!
Or any community organizers
I’m surprised, I thought this administration was being run by 4 year olds, not 11.
This administration does not need an outside source for their “in yo face mo fo” decision.
And look what it got her, a Republican, Christian gunowner.
Interesting.....always seem to be a little girl writing to the president! Interesting!
What’s going on is called debasement of the currency.
Soros wrote the letter for her.
Riiiiiiiiiiiiiight.
I guess the Susan B. Anthony thing went in the memory hole.
Or are "coins" not "currency" ?
LOL!
That little girl’s writing needs a lot of improvement.
This girl wrote that if there weren’t women there wouldn’t be men. I realize she is just a kid but what the heck is that supposed to.mean?? If there were no men there wouldn’t be women either. What is the point? Men and women complement each other and need each other and combine together in families. Probably this girl has a.liberal mother to feed her such drivel.
This image would be far more acceptable:
I’ll have to get a debit card now.I was resisting the whole debit card thing, but there’s no way I’m carrying bills that look like THAT in my wallet.
Now that you mention it, the entire scheme DOES sound like it’s the brainchild of an eleven-year old.
...could I have two tens pls.
I suspect that after the November elections, this whole issue of changing the currency will be quickly forgotten.
