RNC members might be abandoning Cruz and climbing aboard the #TrumpTrain

A long fought battle between GOP front-runner Donald Trump and the RNC establishment might be coming to a close after the staggering victory Trump had in New York.

reuters.com reports: The New York real estate mogul's win Tuesday in his home state over rivals Ted Cruz and John Kasich was an important milestone for RNC members, who said it could put him on a pathway to acquire the 1,237 delegates needed to win the nomination outright without a contested convention.

"There are a fair number of RNC members who were discounting his chances of success when we met in January and now see that he’s building a substantial lead and may in fact get to 1,237 before we get to the convention," said Steve Duprey, an RNC member from New Hampshire.

"The New York results were such an overwhelming win," Duprey said. "It's impressive. That's what I've heard people talking about."

RNC members said Trump could help improve the climate by taking steps to end the bad blood that has developed between him and the committee's leadership, including RNC Chairman Reince Priebus.

Trump signed “the pledge” and has given no indication of reneging. The only hints of reneging have come from the GOP-e. So FURNC!

Not even remotely true.....trump has threatened repeatedly. He has said the agreement was not valid several times

Are we going to hear the same vile accusations about Trump that were made about Cruz selling out, being a GOPe stooge, etc

No, see when Cruz talks to GOP, he's a sellout but when TRUMP talks to GOP, why then, of course, they're coming around, dont'cha see?

Won’t happen. He might be able to peel of a few, but very few. The RNC wants this to go to the convention for additional ballots. Most of them will stay close to the sidelines hoping that it gets to a point where Trump cannot get to 1237. If Trump makes the 1237 mark before the convention, then you will see the GOPe and Trump make nice.

Trump will not accommodate any of them in any capacity, ever.

I think what you will see now is many Top Republicans getting behind Trump before he seals the deal himself. You don't want to be the last guy on the band wagon very little favor accrues. Trump will accept most of them in the name of unifying the party.

I do agree that Trump will probably ask for changes in the RNC once this process starts and rightly so. The RNC is damaged goods right now and will need a change to effect a strong campaign against the Democrats. Preibus will probably have to step down before the campaign starts in earnest. He is not the face of the Republican Party you want to go up against the Democrats.

You don’t understand the man behind the facade of conservative St. Ted the Pious One.

1) He’s a hot-headed Cuban

2) He’s a pompous Ivy Leaguer

3) He’s a blood-sucking lawyer

4) He’s an egotistical power flirt

That’s one heck of a bravado-combo. I hope that he can return to his seat in Texas, keeping his lil family intact and continue to be a great force in the Senate. This will be a very tough adjustment for him. But he’s got to go.

Ted reminds me of John Kerry or BHO. They all had been positioning themselves so carefully for 15 years or more Kerry (30 yrs) to make it to the top*. Their Egos are so Yuge. GWB, fortunately, did not have that in him. His motivator was external family pride.

The Yuuuge difference became apparent when Neil Bush came onboard with Cruz. And when the GOPe spends millions on ads bashing Trump when Cruz his him main contender. Florida = over 40 mill. That’s the difference.

Rush talked about this happening a month ago or more. He said after a few RNC made the move to Trump it would open a flood gate. Its happening now after New York and the flood gate will open next week.

The closer Trump gets to the nomination, the more ‘they’ will come around. They do not want to foresake someone who might be the next Power in the Oval Office.<<<<<<

What we learn from this is that our ‘’leaders’’ are actually followers, and not leaders at all.
