Onyx...understand that for those who have been here for years, have loved being here and made many friends......you’re asking them to leave their home because they simply aren’t ready to go along with the rest of “the family” choice on a matter that is highly significant to them........especially since nobody has won the nominee yet.
It’s not just about the Presidency....it’s about leaving a home they have enjoyed long fellowship with because they are no longer “free” to disagree or express those differences, which has created heavy hearts and disappointment to many. They are far more invested in Free Republic and the members here then they are in either candidate.....and you’re asking them to give that up....some will leave, others will be booted...and still others will wait to see if or not we have a nominee when the voting is completed.
Remember? It was the same last time with Romney. Several of us went into self imposed exile until the election was over. And now we are back.

The vituperations of the Cruz supporters is the ONLY thing driving them away. Cruz ALWAYS had widespread support here on FreeRepublic, but when that support turns as vindictive and disloyal as many have been, lightning flashes.
I guarantee you the only reason any of the nasty stories about Cruz get any traction around here is because the abuse heaped on Trump supporters by Cruz supporters has been unprecedented, and its victims have grabbed any rock they can find to throw back... and this is coming from someone who has been actively FReeping for more than seventeen years.
