TRUMP TRIES OUT FOR NEW ROLE: PRESUMPTIVE NOMINEE
The Republican nominating process has evolved for a moment just such as this: helping a damaged frontrunner stave off a challenge from a conservative insurgent and avoiding the threat of a chaotic convention.
What nobody knew was that the frontrunner this year would be Donald Trump.
And as Trump showed both in his remarks after his resounding victory in his home state and the promise of big money for the Republican consultant class, he is willing to try to play the part that was written for another player: Mr. Inevitability.

You can’t tell trumpers anything, but it’s fun to try.
The press has been trump-friendly so far but they will go back to their roots if it ever becomes Trump and HIllary.
By the way, why won’t Trump debate Cruz. It makes him look like a sissy and if he really want to beat Hillary, he needs the practice ...
Give it up and come to the reality party. This is normal politics unfolding. The party voting base is coalescing around the candidate they believe can win the general election. That is Trump. All others are on the way out now. There is not going to be a contested convention or a second ballot. Ted Cruz has run his course and he’s going to be out soon. This thing was all but over on Super Tuesday. The chattering class and some media are keeping him alive.
It really was a ridiculous challenge by Cruz. Nobody in their right mind would expect Trump to take him up on it. Such a debate would help nobody, not even Cruz, and issuing the challenge just makes him look desperate.
Cruz? Desperate?! Say it ain’t so!
If you haven't noticed him doing that kind of firing back the most successfully of any candidate in almost thirty years, you haven't been watching.
It's one of many reasons I switched preference in January. It wasn't because I disliked Cruz, it was the ability of Trump to use the media, and go over their heads to get his message out.
The Trump team is now busy with infighting and cannot possibly catch up to the Cruz people.

This is the funniest joke of the day.
Cruz and Kasich could not even come close to this performance in their home states.
Trump is up 18 points in California.
Trump is up over 50% in 2 of the next 5 states and is going to win them all.
But Trump has to catch up to Cruz. This is the best laugh I have had today.
Why won’t Trump debate Cruz?
Here we go again.
Do this:
Think of the ages of each candidate
Think 2 terms x 4 years per term (hint: 8 years)
Recalculate ages
Why aren’t you trumpers whining about the unfairness of the early primaries?
You know your guy took all the votes and only won about a third of them.
That isn’t fair.
Oddly enough, Ted Cruz did not whine.
He went about his business of winning the nomination and don’t think he won’t.
Why should he? What's in it for him?
Why wont Trump debate Cruz?

There is no need to.
Cruz is losing the next 5 election very big.
Trump is up 18 points in California.
There is absolutely no need to give Cruz any oxygen. The odds now are that Trump has 1237 before California. Cruz is nothing more than a distraction now.
Get your laughing done while you can.
It won’t be so funny in June.
Yeah, but he sat on a sofa with Pelosi so he must be a communist sympathizer.
See #92!
Trump is afraid to debate Cruz.
He would be left on the floor in a little orange puddle.
You're welcome.
Reagan broke bread with Gorbachev which makes Reagan a Stalinist (sarc).
Just like all the other debates /s
Desperation is beginning to ooze out of every pore. I think Cruz was shocked by last night's results. He'd expected to pick off a couple of the primarily black Congressional districts in the city and leave with nine or twelve delegates. He got zip. His plan to keep Trump from 1237 took a big hit, and he knows it.
