Citing GOP frontrunner Donald Trump’s long history of supporting “ultra-liberal” Democrats, Rafael Cruz, father of Sen, Sen. Ted Cruz told Breitbart that as president Donald Trump “would be worse than Hillary Clinton, but he cannot beat Hillary Clinton.”
“We’ve got to realize, Donald Trump is more of a Democrat than a Republican,” Cruz said. “He has been funding Democrats like Chuck Schumer, like Sen. Harry Reid,like Anthony Weiner, like de Blasio and many others. For forty years he has been supporting all these ultra-liberal politicians. He would be worse than Hillary Clinton, but he cannot beat Hillary Clinton.”
“It’s very simple. All they have to do is look at the polls,” he said in response to those who think Trump might be a stronger candidate against Hillary Clinton. “Poll after poll after poll after poll after poll shows that if Donald Trump is the Republican nominee, he loses to Hillary Clinton by double digits. Donald Trump cannot beat Hillary Clinton. That would be the dream ticket for Hillary Clinton because all the polls show that Donald Trump would lose and would lose by a landslide.”
As for the convention and the GOP nomination, Cruz predicted his son will win on a second of third ballot once delegates sent by voters to Cleveland deserted Trump. “I think that this is going to go to the convention. And if Donald Trump does not get 1,237 — and I don’t believe he will — he will lose at the convention. I believe that my son will get the nomination, if not by the second ballot, maybe by the third ballot.”
“As we get into the convention and delegates are released, we’ll see Sen. Cruz’s support increase more and more. And I am convinced that he will get the nomination,” he continued.

The Whole Cruz Cuba to now is nothing but one big lie, so he best sit down, he’s not an ordained preacher as he claims, his identity is even phony along with how he came to this Country...so go back to Cuba or Canada which ever one that would have you, or better yet, go to Mexico, you and the Bushes would do better there...America doesn’t want another loser as a President...

That’s how Rafael Cruz, Ted’s father and a born-again pastor, described his son’s decision-making process. Speaking on a syndicated radio show at the end of last year, the elder Cruz recounted that during a Sunday prayer session at a Texas church, Ted Cruz and his family sought God’s guidance as to whether the senator should enter the presidential race, and after two hours of praying, God sent a message to Heidi that essentially said: Go for it.
Here’s the story, according to Rafael Cruz:
My son Ted and his family spent six months in prayer seeking God’s will for this decision. But the day the final green light came on, the whole family was together. It was a Sunday. We were all at his church, First Baptist Church in Houston, including his senior staff. After the church service, we all gathered at the pastor’s office. We were on our knees for two hours seeking God’s will. At the end of that time, a word came through his wife, Heidi. And the word came, just saying, “Seek God’s face, not God’s hand.” And I’ll tell you, it was as if there was a cloud of the holy spirit filling that place. Some of us were weeping, and Ted just looked up and said, “Lord, here am I, use me. I surrender to you, whatever you want.” And he felt that was a green light to move forward.
