In conventional conservative doctrine, the mainstream press and much of the new media are little more than arms of Democratic Party officialdom. Also, bigotry and misogyny are no longer widespread problems, in the rights tellingand to the extent that they still exist, they are no more prevalent on the right than on the left.
In their efforts to stop Trump, conservatives have sidelined these and other premises about American political culture, so that the generic liberal critique of conservatism might be deployed against him and him alone.

LOL
Good job.
> “Bush lied people died.”
George Tenet exaggerated (”lied”) Iraqi intelligence that Iraq had an ‘active’ WMD program. Bush accepted the intelligence, accepted the lie and promulgated it into policy, a policy he was hoping to implement regardless of the validity of the intel. Bush was President, ergo, responsible for what he executed. He accepted Tenet’s ‘lie’ report, acted on it and caused needless loss of life.
> “Corporations and financial institutions are the cause of our problems.”
People who are not aware of the mess the banks and hedge funds have created and continue to create have likely been sleeping under a rock or are as dumb as a rock.
> “Planned Parenthood does good things.”
PP has performed pap smears that have detected cancerous conditions in some women early enough to save their lives. But Trump has stated emphatically and without equivocation that PP should be defunded if they continue to do abortion on demand.
> “International trade and trade agreements are bad.”
This is not true? Again there are those that have either been sleeping under a rock or are one.
Thank you for proving this article 100percent...you’re a peach!
Yep, you can’t answer the charge so you just shout “liar”. Typical trumpoid.
Sometimes you enemies speak the truth even if it's not in the way they mean it.
>Bush lied people died.
Bush told us Islam is the religion of peace. He lied. Bush told us removing Saddam would removed a great threat to the US. Bush lied. Bush protected the people who actually funded 911 and lied to us about it. Bush allowed more and more Muslim immigration into America and Americans continue to die from it. I'd rate that as true.
>International trade and trade agreements are bad.
NAFTA and free trade with China destroyed the American working class and that is a bad thing. However, the contention that the left is against free trade is garbage. One of the biggest arguments I keep hearing from leftists is the destruction of the American worker is fine because it helps poor people in China. Leftists all the way back to Karl Marx have been big time free traders. Conservatives have traditionally supported protectionism and we've only been recently hijacked by globalists on these issues.
>Corporations and financial institutions are the cause of our problems.
Corporations that are stealing from the public till are a major problem in this country and banks have always been the source of the boom/bust business cycle. However, I haven't met a Trump supporter who didn't blame the government far far more than the corporations and the banks. The later 2 are just doing what comes natural in a perverse environment, while the government is the source of the problem.
And what? You believe Rove? Do you think Trump gives a damn what Rove ‘warms’ to?
The only thing Rove will warm to is a mushy mess in the seat of his pants when he becomes even more irrelevant as the Trump Campaign cinches the nomination on June 7.
Most of these Cruz people haven’t any more of a clue about micro and macro economics than Bernie Sanders does.
“Trump is not liberal...he is not conservative..”
Just saying he is not a conservative tells me all I need to know, you can stop right there.
I suspect many of the Cruz people are not really ‘Cruz’ people, but are Romney butt sniffers.
So you admit to being close-minded...OK.....
I completely agree with you. In other words, traitors to the conservative cause, and indeed to all American workers.
Name ONE true conservative that is running for president...Just one...
No one cares what Rove admits or excretes, including Donald Trump.
Most republicans were holding their nose for Rompuke in 2012. Their Romney vote was not a Romney vote, it was an anti-Obama vote.
“PP has performed pap smears that have detected cancerous conditions in some women early enough to save their lives”
Any free clinic in the country can do pap smears, this is no justification for funding Planned Parenthood abortion mills.
“But Trump has stated emphatically and without equivocation that PP should be defunded if they continue to do abortion on demand.”
ONLY after he caught holy hell for trying to justify continuing to fund them based on the false “they do good work” excuse. He was forced to backtrack to that position, it wasn’t the one he wanted to take.
The closest person to a true conservative in politics today is Jeff Sessions...He is with Trump....
If he’s with Trump, then he’s jumped the conservative ship as far as I’m concerned.
Well you can say it from now until Reagan is resurrected. It doesn’t change the fact that a conservative can oppose Trump, the GOPe and the Marxist press with equal fervor.
Well, that may be the case part of the time.
Generally they’ll tell you he isn’t tied at the hip with the RNC/GOPe.
I dismissed it at first, but he is a sitting Senator. He is part of the establishment.
Each day he goes about proving just how much he really is one with the GOPe.
Ouch!
And some of us don’t want to vote for Romney II. McCain, Romney, Trump... who are they going to give us in 2020, Lenin?
