In their efforts to stop Trump, conservatives have sidelined these and other premises about American political culture, so that the generic liberal critique of conservatism might be deployed against him and him alone.

In the latest NR, on page 16, is a big photo of George Wallace, illustrating an article on Trump by Rich Lowry. Turn the page, and an article by David French is illustrated with a drawing of Trump dragging a female by the hair.
I’ve been saying this for awhile, the anti-Trump conservatives have aligned themselves on the side of anti-liberty and anti-freedom.
They only have Ted Cruz to blame for that. If he was any kind of principled conservative, like they claim, he wouldn’t be putting them or the party through this so he can satisfy his overly ambitious ego and power trip.
Conservative is only a label and Cruz proves more and more he’s not anywhere near a principled one.

It’s a good thing Trump published so many policy papers, so Cruz knew what to run thru his focus group polls and then make decisions on what to copy.
