What has the GOP done for you the last 30 years?

Now you've said a mouthful!

Ya think Trump voters are in the minority?

Since Trump has only received about 37% of the primary vote, and a lot of those votes were not from Republicans but from Dems and independents in the open primaries, yes, by definition that makes Trump voters a minority in the GOP.

The daily caucus on FR suggests you are wrong...

Please - FR is not representative of the GOP at large.

Cruz is poised to win all the marbles on Ballot #2.

Cruz will be coming into the convention with somewhere between seven and eight hundred delegates won.

If you think he's going to get over six hundred switches on the second ballot, I have this bridge you might want to consider shares in.

Just send your bank info to my Nigerian account.......

Currently a bigger slice than Cruzloyalists.

Yeah, but the Cruz supporters aren't the ones threatening to form a third party, so that really is irrelevant to this discussion...

Trump is such a genius deal maker yet can’t even figure out the primary system and resorts to cheating claims.

Another keyboard commando who thinks he has it all figured out!

Only a fool draws faulty conclusions before all the moves have been made. A wise man allows the game to play out.

So after 17 candidates to start Trump has 37%, his nearest rival has 28%, Rubio has 15%, Kaisch has 13%. What is your point? Trump has the majority.

If you want to restrict it to greater than 50% (one of many meanings of majority) no candidate has that and so the original premise by the OP is meaningless.

ma·jor·i·ty

noun: majority; plural noun: majorities

1. the greater number.

"in the majority of cases all will go smoothly" synonyms: larger part/number, greater part/number, best/better part

That is meaningless drivel. All of the other wannabes have received LESS than that.

Trump 8.2 million
Cruz 6.3 million
Rubio 3.5 million
Kasich 2.9 million

If Trump has brought in nearly 2 million cross-overs, that is more than any Republican since Reagan has done.

A majority is over 50%. Right now, Trump has a plurality among the candidates, but a minority of the party as a whole.

No, just average ability.

But I can recognize the difference between civil discussion and zero-info ad hominem.

Perhaps. But those crossovers are not part of the GOP, and so they have would not count in determining if Trump voters represented a majority of the party or not.

Hey, that’s at least an argument, rather than smack talk.

I even agree with parts of it.

Thank you.

You are wrong. I bothered to include the dictionary definition. Sorry it didn’t suit your purposes, here are a few more:

: the greater quantity or share <the majority of the time
: the group or political party having the greater number of votes (as in a legislature)

Usage Note: When majority refers to a particular number of votes, it takes a singular verb: Her majority was five votes. His majority has been growing by 5 percent every year. When it refers to a group of persons or things that are in the majority, it may take either a singular or plural verb, depending on whether the group is considered as a whole or as a set of people considered individually. So we say The majority elects (not elect) the candidate it wants (not they want), since the election is accomplished by the group as a whole; but The majority of the voters live (not lives) in the city, since living in the city is something that each voter does individually. Majority is often preceded by great (but not by greater) in expressing emphatically the sense of “most of”: The great majority approved. The phrase greater majority is appropriate only when considering two majorities: He won by a greater majority in this election than in the last.

Sorry, when it comes to elections, a majority is 50% +1. Anything less is a minority - less than half.

those crossovers are not part of the GOP

They certainly won't stay if they see Trump being shafted by the GOPestablishment.

But the GOP has been crying for nearly 2 decades that they need a bigger tent Trump is expanding the tent and they are going into hysterics.

That would be appropriate if there were two running.

The number of people running doesn't matter. Now, a person can win with a plurality in many cases - more votes than anyone else, but less than a majority - but that still does not make a plurality a majority. It doesn't matter if there are 10 people running for the nomination - a majority of delegates (1237 this year) is still required. It doesn't matter if 4 people are running 4 president - it still takes a majority of electoral votes (270) to win. You don't win just because you have more than everyone else - you need 50% + 1.

I understand your point but do not yield mine. If there are 3-4 players it is not pertinent to use <50% majority as a measure of weak support from the electorate. Trump has the strongest support from the Republican base of all the candidates at present. Additionally he is the only candidate with significant cross over.

I imagine kik5150 has never signed the front of a paycheck either. Most likely a cubical-bound, nine-to-fiver, performing the same monotonous tasks for the last 30 years.

Meanwhile billionaire, international business tycoon Donald Trump continues to groom his children to take over growing the business while, at the same time, running for President.

Yeah, that Trump guy is a real jerk.
