“The Media will care about this story as soon as a Republican is elected President.”

Did the media care about those 28 pages from the time the 9/11 Report was released and the end of the Bush Administration?

It depends on what kind of debt they have. They might have to take a big hit if they have long-term bonds and try to dump them all at once. They could end up paying people to buy them. The same goes for any Chinese threats to do the same.

On the other hand, people threatened with negative interest rates might make a good market.

There are two aspects to the proposed legislation:
1) Releasing the 28 secret pages, which may or may not contain the truth.
2) Enabling lawsuits in US courts against foreign governments, like KSA, and presumably some of its rulers and subjects.

I can see why the Saudis would be terrified of #2. They’d be nuts to leave assets where the US can seize or freeze them. No matter what the evidence is, they would be picked clean by anyone who can claim to be a 9-11 victim.

Are Trial Lawyers using the secrecy of the 28 pages to get a bonanza for themselves? Let’s ditch the Trial Lawyers Enrichment Act part of this, and just release the 28 pages, and any other data that the public has a right to know. If they contain damning material, losing a lawsuit will be the least of the Saudis troubles.

Either that or send those two enforcers from Pulp Fiction over there to talk to them about Royale with Cheese and Big Kahuna burgers.

Oh, that’s horrible. Interest rates are supposed to be negative, aren’t they?

I glad Rudy Giuliani spit in their face when the Saudis offered $10 Million after 9/11. Rudy knew the score - these bastards did this and their money is dirty. This Whahabism is the basis for 9/11 as well as ISIS. A movement that returned Islam to the hardcore hegemonistic political steamroller they all want it to be.

What about that plane load of Saudis that had been allowed to leave when no other aircraft was flying? Did Cheney and Bush sell this country out for Saudi money? It doesn’t sound like conspiracy jabber anymore.

That needs to be looked into.

This thing was an act of war, they financed it, then we declare war on Iraq? Why?

WHITE HOUSE SAYS IT IS CONFIDENT THAT SAUDIS RECOGNIZE THE SHARED INTEREST...

And by "shared interests" he means Obama and the Saudi royal family have the same religious interests.

That's the sort of language extortionists use. Methinks Obama is filling up his retirement coffers with Saudi money...

Actually I don’t think we buy much anymore. China is their new best customer. Those fun guys with Mafia business practices and 1.5 billion expendable people to enforce them.

I can see why the Saudis are getting a bit nervous....

Trump could not legally release the 28 pages without consent of Congress.

What makes you think Trump will respect the constitution and the separation of powers...

He has a Twitter account, what more does he need...?

invade Saudi Arabia , kill their leaders , take their oil and convert the population to Christianity .

Well, other than the convert to Christianity part, we could've gotten Saddam to do that for us back in 1991.

“This thing was an act of war, they financed it, then we declare war on Iraq? Why?”

The New York Post is reporting that on 9/13/01 President Bush sat on the Truman Balcony smoking cigars with the Saudi Ambassador.

That should answer your question.

.... We really need to hear how a President Trump or how the other candidates would or even will handle this situation. The selling off of that many assets would more than likely collapse the economy.

As National Command Authority, POTUS is the ultimate classification authority on any state secret. If he says it’s releasable, it’s releasable.
