I didn’t know that the president had the power to fire the party chairman.
The nominee becomes the titular head of the party and if elected as President has historically picked the party chariman.
GW Bush had Cheap Labor Express flunkies as chairmen.
Probably not but look what King Obama does with the phone and pen. It seems that the President is actually a dictator and can do anything.
I didnt know that the president had the power to fire the party chairman.
Historically, a POTUS has always called the shots of his party.
“I didnt know that the president had the power to fire the party chairman.”
He has the power to have him arrested.
Typically the President always becomes the head of his political party. If he doesn’t then that political party has serious divisions.
If Trump wins the election Rinse is toast.
This is not about what "the president" can do. It's what Trump desires to do.
Any rule regarding who elects the party chair is unfair, and is not democratic. Trump will do the right thing. He will consult with his top advisor (himself), and then hire the best guys to replace Rinse, and make the best deal to do so.
I thought the same thing. The President is considered the head of his party, but to what extant is this substantive? Could Obama fire Debbie Wasserman Schultz?
He doesn't, but... The Trumpanzees will certainly enjoy this bit of Authoritarian nonsense from their Prophet.
Every President for the past several decades has been the veto vote for the appointment of the party chairman.
The new monarch is not bound to any law, especially those he has never read like, in the Constitution.
Every new GOP nominee picks his preferred chairman of the national GOP. This has always been. Trump is to dumb to know this or he would not have needed to say it. Romney appointed Preibus.
