Ive heard newscasters and pundits say the Trump organization just didnt get it. Maybe they overlooked the rules. Maybe they didnt understand them. Maybe they never read them or acted on them.
But what if Donald Trump, the master negotiator, the brilliant media tactician, the unparalleled manipulator of public opinion, DID know all about the rules? What if he didnt bother going after those delegates because he knew it would benefit him more profoundly if he didnt turning what was perceived by his supporters and the general public unfamiliar with the arcane rules of the GOP into a national cause célèbre that would help his campaign steamroll over the competition in upcoming primaries in New York, Maryland, California and elsewhere?
Am I the only one who thinks Donald Trump didnt earn $9 billion by being stupid?
Im frankly really surprised that so many bright people, cynical people, suspicious people havent considered this possibility.

I’ve seen that possibility mentioned on FR, and the premise sounds so plausible that I have been using it with Cruz supporters myself.
The perception is that Cruz stole the delegates and the voters had no say.
Perception is reality.
And Trump is a master at taking a negative and turning it around.
Go Trump!
Just because he talks TO the American People, doesn't mean he hasn't got the ‘finer points of conversation’...we have been so ‘dumb downed’ for so many years, we hear what Trump is telling us, he knows what is going on, and so do the people around him...
I said when he first announced, don't expect him to tell you what he's doing, he is a highly re-guarded billion dollar businessman and they hold things to their vests, when the time is ready, he will drop his ‘bomb’ and everyone will sit there and say:’ what the heck just happened’...that's the way they operate...and don't think Trump isn't a smart man, he didn't get to where he is in life by being dumb...
He understands. He’s just counting on the ignorance of his supporters.
As I continue to say. Trump is not stupid, in fact, just the opposite. He is running a very clever balancing act of populism. Clever if not genius!
Trump is a successful Republican from New York. I think he understands how you play the game and win as a Republican in this day and age!
You know how, when there’s a forest fire they will intentionally burn a barrier strip. sacrificing a small amount of land to solve the much bigger problem? Same here, I think - Trump is letting the public see not only how the corrupt Republican system works to disenfranchise the people, but also how Cruz is happy to wallow in the ashes of these burn-downs and show what an insider and “ends justify the means” typical politician he really is.
People aren’t stupid. Many of them aren’t paying attention yet, but the more they see of Ted Cruz, the less they are going to like him. The numbers have always shown this, which is why Cruz mostly can only win in caucus states, closed primaries, and banana republics like Colorado where the people are denied the right to vote.
Trump will gladly sacrifice a few delegates here and there to gain the bigger win, i.e. 1237 - and put Cruz’s “victories” in the dustbin of history. Nobody remembers or cares how close the #2 candidate ever comes.
I have always contended that the Donald knows exactly what he’s doing.
Ok... I’ll bite. What is it that you think I don’t know?
He can compare and contrast his business prowess and success to Hillary and her crooked escapades going back to Arkansas, or Bernie, the hippy who never earned a dime in 40 years and his arrests protesting capitalism or whatever.
**Go** TRUMP!
Indict- Hillary!
Repatriate- Ted!
Kibbutz 4 Bernie!
Trump knew before the first primary that the chances of ANYONE getting the win on the first convention ballot was nil... there were just too many candidates splitting up the votes...
If you lose by 1 , 100 or 300 it JUST DOESN’T MATTER ...
He’s playing this just right looking ahead to pressure the delegates and the RNC...
1237 Methyl butyrate, also known under the systematic name methyl butanoate, is the methyl ester of butyric acid.

OK , it’s flammable ... what am I missing? I would have chosen 1203 (gasoline)
Good analysis.
