Treasury Secretary Jack Lew is expected to announce this week that Alexander Hamilton's face will remain on the front of the $10 bill and a woman will replace Andrew Jackson on the face of the $20 bill, a senior government source told CNN on Saturday.
Lew announced last summer that he was considering redesigning the $10 bill to include the portrait of a woman. The decision to make the historic change at the expense of Hamilton drew angry rebukes from fans of the former Treasury Secretary. The pro-Hamilton movement gained steam after the smash success of the hip-hop Broadway musical about his life this year.
Those pressures led Lew to determine that Hamilton should remain on the front of the bill. Instead, a mural-style depiction of the women's suffrage movement -- including images of leaders such as Susan B. Anthony -- will be featured on the back of the bill.

Look at all the asshats on a conservative forum thread stumbling over themselves
And this is conservatism?
Bunch of weak PC dumbasses
Depressing
Is Jonah Goldberg night?
Why is that ?
He fought and bled to build this country from the revolution forward
You gonna replace him with some PC woman?
You know why they dropped Alex?
Cause they like way too many freepers are stupid enough to think he’s black.....part black
Cogent and right over the heads of the dummies
Pitiful
My first choice - Margaret Thatcher
If it must be an American - Mae West or Liberace
But stores still make change to the penny!
They’ve got those little penny dishes, but that’s as far as it’s gone.
The only one I can think of who would be suitable is, alas, not an American. However, she was a good friend of RR.
Yeah, to make it fair, they should introduce a $25 bill with Bella Abzug, or whoever, on it. Then they could convert all the ATMs to dispense $25 bills, and you would have to go inside for Jacksons, and they would spray you with a hose while you waited in line.
I would be cool with that, as long as I could get my Jacksons.
But seriously, it would be a big move. I would think that people would resist it, and ATM withdrawals and cash usage in general, would drop precipitously. We’re right at that point anyway, as noted.
Isn’t our money having enough problems without making it even more silly by these ridiculous P.C. games?
The idiocy in charge of the U.S.A. It’s hard to fathom but all too real.
Winner
I actually liked the $1 Susan B. Anthony but not because it was a woman. I liked a $1 coin. The gold look was cool - use to save them up.
Of course, I used to prosper before idiots decided NAFTA / NAU / H1B / See ya at the bill signing screwed up the country.
I even liked the $2 bill.
How did those both work out in the end, America?
I’d fire this clown before he screwed up the money.
But then, I’m for keeping America like she was when things were good.
Crazy, I know.
Hell yes, or other depiction of Liberty thereof as was on every coin prior to the creation of the FED...
I always thought it was for spite.
Since the libs like fairy tales (pun intended) whichever bill they want to change, start a rumor that the present rider said he wanted to identify as a woman.
Or, as someone suggested to be real PC, go for Caitlin or Barney Fwank, or if he really want a trifecta, Michael Jackson would please anyone.
By anyone I mean anyone but US - but that is the whole idea, just keep us so weeweed off that we lose track of what these clowns are doing to us.
Of course since Rs have House and Senate BO will not be able to do so much damage as they are sure to continue the fight to block all the BS that the malmisadministration comes up with.
Agree.
Any woman will be the result of a PC-driven process.
You can guarantee it will be a black woman and liberal, too, quite possibly a lezbo as well as disabled in some way, or a combination thereof.
And if you object you must be racist.
Leave the bills alone.
They will, and it won’t be pretty.
Agree!
So this doesn’t need congress approval?
