FOX Business Network reported:
On Thursday, Corey Lewandowski, the campaign manager for Donald Trump, was cleared of simple battery charges by Florida prosecutors. Police charged Lewandowski after reporter Michelle Fields, who at the time was with Breitbart News, accused him of grabbing her while she asked Donald Trump a question during an event in early March. Fields resigned her position following the incident.
Lewandowski, speaking to Blake Burman of the FOX Business Network, explained what happened that night in Florida and said he tried to get in touch with Fields.
I picked up the phone and I called Michelle, Lewandowski said. I wanted to find out what happened because I didnt know what happened because I never heard from her. To this day the campaigns never heard from her. She never once called and said hey, this took place. Id like to go and resolve this issue. I dont want to make this a story. None of that ever took place. But because I saw what the Twitter feed was saying, I said jeez, lets find out whats going on.
The campaign manager said he turned over his phone records to the district attorneys office in Florida in order to prove he made the calls that evening.
I never heard back [from Fields], Lewandowski said. The [Trump] campaign never heard back. And I think what we could have done, if she didnt want to become the story here, is have a private conversation saying this is what I think occurred.

Remember Governor Perry?
You can Indict a Ham Sandwich and they couldn’t even Charge Trump’s Campaign Manager.
Like I posted to you, why does it matter?
It’s over, move on. You have nothing to prove, sorry.
It’s over move on.
So why are you still whining and crying? Slick
Most of the confusion here is because most people did not actually hear and see the prosecutors press conference. In Florida unwanted touching can be charged by the police and they did. The prosecutor then decides if the charges should be dropped or go forward depending on whether they feel they can get a conviction. The prosecutor knew he could not get a conviction because Fields also touched Trump when she invaded his protective bubble after the reporters had been ordered to go to the back of the room. The prosecutors also said that when Fields did not follow instructions and actually reached out and touched Trump’s arm then Corey had a right to do what he did to separate her from Trump. They cant get a conviction on a charge of unwanted touching when the other person also did the exact same thing.
Crickets.....
You are reaching! Brushing past someone isn't meeting them.
Delusional....
I remember every time I've grabbed a woman hard enough to bruise her arm.
It assumes no such thing. Lewandowski lied, and said he didn't touch her, and then later admitted he did.
Just like the made up charges against Tom Delay, right?
And frankly Rush hasn’t been the same since.
The issue is not at all about what she did and how many times she may have done it before. The issue is that both Trump and Lewandowski LIED about the encounter. I can never again trust them to tell the truth.
Don’t you give a moment’s thought to dickdiver. He is obsessed over a nothingburger, then calls you obsessed when you notice it.
Don’t spend a moment worrying about dickdiver. He doesn’t know the meaning of the word ‘met’, apparently.
By the time of the call, Fields was still in the throes of journalistic coup euphoria. He mind was consumed with excess success she could not assess what was in fact happening.
She didn’t begin to realize that her criminal action was to be Trumped by truth
If you read my post, I said that my analysis indicates that he grabbed her and pulled her with enough force to significantly change her position with respect to Trump, and that it could have caused her to lose her balance. How she might interpret that is far beyond my expertise.
I couldn't care less what she says or did. The issue, to me, is that Trump and Lewandowski lied about it. I cannot trust a presidential candidate whose first reaction to an issue is to lie about it.
Why is that surprising to anyone?
You don’t know what a lie means.
It seems that I have a whole lot better grasp of its meaning than you do.
Lets see if you’re consistent. Did Bush lie about Iraq WMD?
Until they are proven false yes. It’s hardly an equal comparison though.
