US says North Korean missile launch was a 'catastrophic' failure

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Pentagon is describing a North Korean missile launch today as a "catastrophic" failure.
The launch was meant to celebrate the birthday of the country's founder. But a South Korean news agency says the missile exploded in the air just a few seconds after liftoff.
It was reportedly a new and powerful type of mid-range missile. A Pentagon spokesman says it appears to have been fired from a mobile launcher, since the location of the launch on the country's east coast was not one that's normally used for ballistic missile launches.

While he’s on his apology tour of the region, perhaps he’ll give ol’ Kim Hillary’s direct email address so he can order them.
If he executes the techs/scientists that screwed up, there will be less competent ones next time around.

They keep trying and sooner or later they will get it right.
At that time we have a problem. They will sell all the plans to the Iranians. They wont give them, they will sell them.
How high was it? If it was high enough for an EMP.. Then it could have been successful. A few seconds at launch speed.. Of course I trust the US assessment. They have been transparent and right... So often. I always ask... Why wouldn’t they use an EMP? It seems like the most effective strike any country could make.
