The U.S. Army on Friday announced it has approved the first 22 women to be commissioned as infantry and armor officers after new rules issued last month opened all combat roles to female service members.
The move is a major milestone on the road to fully integrating women into combat jobs. The Army is taking a leadership first position by first placing female soldiers in leadership roles in combat roles that were not previously open to them, then allowing those women to train and mentor female enlisted combat soldiers.
The 22 women are near completion of their officer training and will be commissioned as second lieutenants in coming weeks, USA Today reported.

Great question and graphic though sickening.
There is no bottom hatch on the Abrams series tank. Any “liquids” end up in the hull. There is a pressure system to clear the bilges out through a side vent. Cleaning the turret and hull floors are hard work...
We could douche out the turret & hull & let it all run out the driver’s escape. Then the driver would sit with his feet hanging out & do Fred Flintstone for photos.
Climbed into an Abrams one time. What about drivers getting decapitated by the turret? That notch in the front looks scary. How does the driver escape?
This. Cannot be stressed enough.
In fact, a good NCO knows that his role is also to train an mentor “his” officer (PL, Co Cdr)...
A good officer knows this, and relies heavily on the counsel of his NCO’s, who often have years of experience under their reflective belts...
This will not work, and if this spokesperson truly believes these statements, he/she/it are either ignorant or criminally negligible.
But...what do I know of such things.
Active Duty ping.
The driver’s hole of the Abrams has one way out (well, technically its possible to drag him up into the turret, but it would have to be aligned at a precise angle and it would take some work to remove turret guards, etc...it won’t happen. If the tank in inverted or submerged, getting the driver out is problematic.
As far as decapitation during turret traverse...it does happen (we had a kid in our unit get his CVC tangled in a camo net on the turret bustle with his drivers hatch open which resulted in his death).
I love the Abrams, and it is the finest tank the world has ever seen, but it is a cruelly efficient killer and will bite you if you aren’t paying attention.

I was amazed at Ft Irwin CA to see them lift the power pack out of an Abrams onto the ground & then fire it up.
Meanwhile we were working on AVLBs with the same M48 hull that I remembered from the 1970’s as the M48A5. This was in 2000.

The tank was designed to be virtually “plug and play”: pull the bad component, slap in another and your tank is back in the fight. However, it’s heavy, dirty and exhaustive work for both the mechanics and the tank crew. I am sure all these new female tank operators are going to pick up the slack.
They will never say or do anything.
The ... N.... S..... A.... listens to, and records everything. (That’s our own government, btw.) Most Republicans and Democrats are compromised for messing with prostitutes,... or under-age little girls and/or little boys.
Two exceptions: Hunter of California, and Sessions of Alabama. There may be another one or two...
