While she originally got the death sentence (voided by our wonderful Supreme Court), she has spent 46 years in prison, shows repentance and rehabilitation and does not appear to be a danger to society. I’m not a great fan of parole, but murderers who have done as bad, if not worse, have served half the time. I’m also not a fan of keeping someone in prison just because a celebrity was the victim as opposed to a “regular” person; hence, I don’t understand why the jackass Sirhan Sirhan is still in prison after 48 years while the multiple Brinks guards/cop murderer Mutulu Shakur got out after 30 years. While Van Houten participated in the LaBianca murders, she was not at the Tate residence on the night of the killings. I am NOT in favor of ever letting out Tex Watson, the main butcher in those “proceedings”.

I think she does well in prison because she knows that if she acts out it would prejudice her chances of parole.

MY big beef is getting a reduced sentence due to “good behavior”. They committed the crime; they should do ALL the time!

I respectfully disagree with your well stated post.

If it took my signature to free this woman there is no way on this green earth I would sign. Someone sick enough to do something like this 45 odd years ago is possibly still just as sick ergo she could do it again and I would not assume that responsibility.

As Trump repeatedly says on a plethora of issues “we gotta be tough”. So, leave her where she is.

I read somewhere that Tex Watson refuses to participate in parole hearings. He does not want people to think that his conversion to Christianity was a ploy to get paroled.

I have no idea if that is true. But I hope it is

I hate the fact that some people are more valued then others ion our court system. I have a brother who committed murder he deserves the needle instead because the person was a homeless mentally ill woman not valued by society he got a 10 year and life on probation. its been 0ver 10 years since he killed the girl and the only reason he is still in jail is that he is stupid and commits more crime from jail.

every life is valuable and the way you show it is by giving the ultimate punishment when someone proves they don’t value life and they kill some one whether it be anger or money.
