I'm a Marine combat vet. I don't think my daughter was "confused" because her dad played a game with her when she was four where he wore a toy ring and necklace.

When you have to leave your little daughter for many months at a time whole on deployment, getting to spend that much time with her was a blessing no matter what we did.
