Cruz eyes double-agent delegates in bid to snatch GOP nomination from Trump

Sen. Ted Cruz’s hopes for winning the Republican presidential nomination outright have faded, and he has shifted to a strategy of gaming the rules, angling to send enough double-agent delegates to the July convention to snatch victory from front-runner Donald Trump.

It’s a major reversal for Mr. Cruz, who just weeks ago insisted he would win the 1,237 delegates needed to clinch the nomination before the convention. But major wins in Utah, Wisconsin and Colorado have not closed the gap, with a series of East Coast primaries looming.

Now the best option for the senator from Texas is trench warfare at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland.

Ted is a conniver and will do and say ANYTHING to win, by any means necessary. Yet he is NOT going to win, so like a DOG IN THE MANGER, he wants to stop Trump.

This is true. Amounts too large for these purposes are suspect, however. This rule was made to equalize things, not make them crooked.

But promises made depending on election are illegal.

If Hillary is the Dem nominee, Cruz has absolutely NO chance of beating her! She will humiliate him in 2 minutes flat, if not less. She plays by her own rules and Ted is a lousy debater, can't think on his feet, and has NO idea how to beat her in a debate.

If, by some means, other than getting the 1237 delegates, WHICH HE SHALL NOT EVEN GET CLOSE TO WINNING, he is the nominee, all of the disaffected Dems, blacks, blue collar workers, etc. whom Trump has brought in, shan't vote for Cruz!

Trump puts many usual Blue states into play and can win the purple states.

Cruz can NOT do that!
