With many, perhaps even most of these “sincerely transgender” masquerades you’d never know because the disguise would be so good. It’s the flashy dashy drag queens that this law is aimed at and who are in turn making the fuss.

I’m glad you pointed that out. I’ve seen lots of men in ladies bathrooms for years. We all have seen them but not all of us know they are men. The very large shoes (usually high heels) and heavy makeup give it away. They cause no trouble and never try to peek at the women.
Just the other night in a restaurant two men (dressed as women) walked by our table. I was looking down and saw the shoes. Looked up and saw the wigs. I mentioned it to my husband. He said that others had just walked by. When I went to the ladies room I had to go by their table. There were at least eleven of them having dinner together. The restaurant had put them in the back of the dining room. I am sure most of the people in that restaurant had no idea. As you say, they’re not the trouble makers.
This entire boycott fiasco is all about punishing North Carolina’s Republican legislature. The super liberal mayor of Charlotte and a LGBT guy - who is a registered sex offender - did this to attack the Republicans. It was a planned attack.
BTW - today the gay mayor of Santa Fe came out with a boycott against NC. (who cares) Anyway next week he is going on a junket to Qatar where it’s illegal to be gay. Why doesn’t he speak out against Qatar? Because this is about burning Republicans, not Muslims.
