After making tepidly positive remarks about former GOP presidential rival Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) set the record straight on Wednesday: It wasn't an endorsement.
"I'm not endorsing in this race right now. I don't have any announcement to make, I was just answering the question," Rubio told reporters.
Rubio was referring to a Tuesday interview with conservative radio host Mark Levin where he said he wants a conservative in the White House and Cruz is the only candidate left standing that fits his criteria.

He’s not running for re-election. He said that when he started running for President. His fallback is Governor and as of today, he may have to wait another four to eight years for the dust to settle.
It certainly does t work to Cruz’s.
“A trump-Rubio ticket would be strong. Maybe not as cool to you as Hillary-Castro but doable.”
No way that happens. Rubio can’t stand Deceptive Donnie, and he doesn’t consider him conservative.
I could see slimey Kasich pulling that trick, but not Little Marco.
Problem is, there won’t be a second ballot. Nice try.
And then what, go into the General Election without the voters! Woo - Hoo! Onward to hollow victories!
Sure does.
Only Trump has a first ballot strategy.
Look at #40.
Correct. Only Trump has a first ballot strategy because that’s where it ends.
“Problem is, there wont be a second ballot. Nice try.”
Ha, ha, ha.
Unless Trump pulls a David Copperfield, he’s not going to have enough delegates.
Sorry...
Possibly, but that doesn't make him more conservative.
Rubio is incredibly pro life, against Gay marriage (Cruz said law of the land).
No, Cruz said it needed to be returned to the states, which is the constitutional and conservative position. And Cruz is the one endorsed by all the pro-life and po-marriage groups.
“And then what, go into the General Election without the voters!”
Nonsense.
If you want to talk about the popular vote, then Donnie doesn’t have the majority of the voters either.
He has 37% to get 46% of the delegates. That’s not enough to win any election.
So you go ahead and stay home and let Hillary win, if that floats your boat.
No need to be sorry, unless you’re a Cruz supporter on the first ballot.
Is there anything about Rubio that isn’t lukewarm?
Ha. You don’t get to blame ME for Hillary if the party choses candidate that is less popular with the base. That will be hung around the necks of the stupid delegates at the last Republican convention.
He had better not endorse Ted Cruz. I still kind of like Marco Rubio and I think he has a future in politics — if he gets his head straight on immigration.
Ted Cruz is untrustworthy and Donald Trump got it right from the very beginning, Cruz really is a lying, self-serving politician.
And as for consistent conservatives, the way they have behaved in this primary towards Donald Trump has been shameful and I’m through with so-called ideological conservatives.
Rubio needs to stand up and ENDORSE Trump.
“Rubio needs to stand up and ENDORSE Trump.”
Yeah. Right. That will happen when hell freezes over.
... he wants a conservative in the White House and Cruz is the only candidate left standing that fits his criteria.
Amen. BTW, I am not endorsing Cruz but I did vote for him in the primary.
u are still here?
or are there multiple libbylu?
Yeah. Good luck with that 73% disapproval rate from women, when women make up 60% of the electorate.
