Former first daughter Chelsea Clinton has joined Avenue Capital Group, a $12 billion hedge fund manager whose founder has contributed to many Democratic Party campaigns, a person familiar with the matter said Friday.
Clinton, 26, the only child of former President Bill Clinton and U.S. Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, has taken a post at the New York-based fund manager in an undisclosed capacity, the source said.
Clinton, who graduated from Stanford University in 2001 and studied philosophy at Oxford University, most recently worked at consultants McKinsey & Co. from 2003.
Avenue which focuses on distressed securities investing was co-founded by Marc Lasry. Morgan Stanley this week bought a minority stake in Avenue.
Well-known in hedge fund circles, Lasry has contributed to political campaigns for Hillary Clinton, Al Gore, Bill Bradley, John Kerry and other Democrats in recent years, federal election records show. However, Lasry has also contributed lesser amounts to campaigns for President Bush, the records show.
Chelsea Clinton couldn’t be reached for comment. A spokeswoman for Avenue said the company “does not comment on issues of company personnel.”
News of Clinton’s hire was reported by the New York Daily News Friday.
First day on the job:
“Ms. Clinton, we don’t want you to actually manage any funds. Just be ready to call Mommy when we tell you to.”

They either got the age wrong, or this is a very old article.
So, she has never gotten a job on her own merit and never succeeded at a job she got by virtue of her parent’s connections. She’s qualified at absolutely nothing, which virtually assures she will enter politics.

Another payoff for the Dums.
Her job description is “door stop”. BUT there’s a “Clinton” name to put on the advertising brochures.
Why, the rest of us will just have to eat cake, if there is no bread.
It is not a “do nothing” job. She will be working in an “undisclosed capacity.”

If her mother can turn $1,000 in Cattle Futures into $90,000+ in only 9 months, just think what Chelsea will do with a few hundred million to play the markets!

Hiring incompetent family members of influential politicians for big-bucks do-nothing jobs is simply another payoff strategy.

She be in charge of parking money off the books of the Crime Family Foundation.
Were it not for her family connections, her only hedge job would be cutting some as an assistant caretaker at someone’s estate.
