A judge on Wednesday ruled against a gay couple in China's first same-sex marriage case that was seen as a landmark moment for the country's emerging LGBT rights movement.
The court in the central city of Changsha dismissed the suit brought against the local civil affairs bureau for refusing to issue the couple a marriage registration certificate.

The only thing that makes sense on why it's happening here is that there must be a higher percentage of closet homosexuals in elected office than it appears. I know that I have investigated some politicians in the past who I thought were comp, etely straight only to discover they were closet homosexuals or bisexuals, some of them married.
In a lot of societies, holding hands by two persons of the same gender does not indicate a romantic or sexual relationship.
You see it a lot across Africa, Asia, and Southern Europe/Balkans.
I can’t speak directly about what it means in your part of China.
Because we’re so much more enlightened! /sarc
Does PayPal do business in China?
It is hardly a defense of “civilized standards.”
Russian and Chinese governments prize conformity and use the organs of the state to enforce it.
I object to the ridiculous notion that homosexual relationships equate to marriage, and appreciate that Russia and China don’t join the madness.
However, these are uncivilized oligarcies, where might makes right, individual liberty is despised, and civilized, representative, constitutional governance is an anathema.
That's Exactly the Problem; God will not allow any Error (sin) to enter Eternity - it would make eternity - eternally corrupt. Since God's character is pure Holiness he has no option but to burn it up or in the case of eternal objects consign them permanently to be incense to serve Him on in the lake of fire.
Folks do not understand; it only takes one uncovered sin ,before God after death, to consign one to the permanent ash heap. And folks like us have scores of unintentional ones as well as the intentional ones (ones we didn't think of and ones we simply glossed over). This is why the Bible says "All have sinned".
But God sent His only Son to a painful death on a cross to pay for All the Sins (all the errors) of Folks like us who believe that He paid them in full upon His Body. With that true belief (not just knowledge) comes Eternal Security and the promise of Heaven. And heaven is pure joy forever, pure love forever, pure relationships with others like us and with God forever with the stamp of approval permanently upon us "Well done Good and Faithful Servant... Enter in the the Joy of your Master" forever.
"Believe upon the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved"
Nope, just the fear of God. He doesn't mess around.
No more state or federal business travel to China!
Next, Saudi arabia...
A common sight in Asia 1960’s-70’s.
Vietnam, if you were kin or a close friend, you held hands.
Male with female, never happen.
[ OK all of you sanctimonious liberals isn’t it time for a boycott against China. ]
Their love of Mao overrides their liberal outrage...
I agree with that in principle, and definitely insofar as it was the Judeo-Christian ethic that the United States could not have been founded without.
However, by Deuteronomy 4:19 and Malachi 1:11, God's purposes go even deeper to embrace all mankind so long as they are not enamored of crime or immorality. Though neither I nor anyone is so adept as to discern the "mechanics" of how He brings that about.
I only Freep from my iPad off of the hotel Internet here in China
I’ve already had my iPhone hacked here and my computer bag was searched when I was stupid enough to leave in what I thought was a locked room.
I only use my computer from a secured connection, but just to be safe I am using a loaned computer that has had anything of importance removed.
I watch church from the Internet since I have no interest in going to a government church and I don’t want to put anyone at risk by going to an underground church.
Yes, it is a pain in the a$$, but the Chinese seem to leave you alone as long as you don’t try to “convert” any one else.
In the film Braveheart, there was an accurate portrayal of the notorious policy of Prima Nocte under which, if he chose, the local Brit colonial overlord could take a bride from her husband on the day of her wedding and, ummm, have his way with her. William Wallace loved his bride enough to marry er secretly before his Uncle Argyll, a Catholic priest. No records. No government position slip. Unlike today, no pre-divorce license for government to decide the most intimate details of the lives of husband, wife and children.
The Red Chinese government famously disapproves f the Roman Catholic Church seeking instead to force Catholics into a phony fraud of an institution known as the Chinese "Patriotic" "Catholic" "Church," compliant stooges of the government. Father Argyll: call your office!
It is NOTHING to do with "liberty" to have a gummint seal of approval stamped on Lance's disordered lust for Bruce's anal canal calling it "marriage" nor for taxpayer funded government courts to enter into unseemly questions in the event that Lance is now in his disorder lusting after the anus of someone other than Brucie and wants to move on or in the event that Brucie has found someone more capable of "fulfilling" his disordered desires. After SCOTUS has ruled that Lance and Bruce can inflict themselves on hapless innocent children, those courts would decide alimony, custody, child support and what not as though Lance and Brucie were "married."
No. Better to walk away from government involvement altogether. There are plenty of unmarried couples giving birth to children. Let the government figure out, without records, who married whom in secret without the permission of government. Nothing representative or constitutional about it since those factors are irrelevant. THAT is individual liberty. People seeking such matters would likely be quite careful in discerning the moral qualities of their prospective spouses and those would likely be the very strongest marriages. Lavenders can do this too but they can't rub our noses in it. They will have to exercise their perverted "liberty" without our societal approval which genuinely freedom loving folks of whatever persuasion won't be obsessed with obtaining.
Preventing government from making believe that Lance's genitals' penetration of the anus of Brucie with a government stamp of approval IS the defense of civilized standards even by Chicoms who are otherwise barbarians.
Should Hitler's government have arrested, convicted and punished rapists? Answer #1: Hitler should not have had a government. Answer #2: If Hitler had a government, yes, he should have punished rape. Governments, all of them, have that obligation and we should have arranged Hitler's final departure from this vale of tears at the earliest opportunity whether he did so or not.
Oh, and BTW, whatever their manifest evils, the Russkies under Putin make a show of good relations with the morally conservative Russian Orthodox Church. Whether Putin actually believes or not, he attends Mass and receives the sacraments of that Church. He also POd the entire pseudo-civilized world by enacting very punitive laws against homosexual behavior and especially against proselytizing the young to become perverts and stood strong against all attempts by the LGBTQ propaganda e stooges to intimidate him or his government even during the Winter Olympics in Russia. Not a spineless wimp like Nathan Deal.
Otherwise, the Russian and Chicom leaders are moral monsters but give credit where it is due. Prized conformity??? You betcha!
A lot of common sites are blocked here in China
No Facebook, no Google
On the other hand, there is a Chinese version of Bing, I can watch recorded versions of church from CIBTV, I can Freep and I can live stream Limbaugh and Hannity off of iHeart radio.
Thanks for the info on internet access in China.
Think of all those corporations that do business in China that are right now bleating over religious freedom laws in the US. I guess they’ll be pulling out their manufacturing from China now.
