Tuesday on MSNBCs Morning Joe, Bono, the lead vocalist of rock band U2, offered warning about the refugee crisis taking place due to turmoil in the Middle East and in Africa.
Bono told Morning Joe this crisis threatens the existence of Europe and could be a hurdle for the next president of the United States to overcome.
What I learned from my trip along the border of Somalia and these camps along the borders of Syria saying but what I learned from that trip with a lot of this work to get undone and furthermore, that it threatens the very existence of Europe. And that a big thing to lay on you at breakfast, and I know its not on the front page of the news here. But the refugee crisis places an existential threat on European unity.
I wish I had better news to report and I think its something to get ahead of, Bono added. I know theres election fever and I can see why people are getting carried away. But the next president might spend his first term not just putting out fires, but forest fires if you dont get on top of this.

The comments here at Washington Post are 95% unfriendly to the Muslim migrants invading Europe
Denmark, a social welfare utopia, takes a nasty turn on refugees
translation:
Maybe I will start another Charity and Expense 98% of the Money to me and my friends again.
The non-profit organisation set up by the U2 frontman received almost £9.6million in donations in 2008 but handed out only £118,000 to good causes (1.2 per cent).
Does he mean “The Muslim invasion is going to turn Europe into Eurabia”, or does he mean “Europe doesn’t have enough resources to provide our dear refugees the goodies they deserve”?
Yup. And now, it is time to buy every last nuke from the Euros. Before the Muslims get ahold of them.
It’s a whole lot harder to get a freeloading relative to move out of your house if you invited them in, in the first place. The European countries were played like a fiddle. I guess it never occurred to them why all the refugees were Muslim and not Christians who were the ones actually being attacked.
I suspect leaders that allowed mass immigrations were paid extremely well under the table in cash. I’d be interested to see what Merkel’s financial status is as compared to before the invasion. That mistake is going to cost her big time.
I’m certainly willing to give Bono a doubt!
After all, he professes Christ, and without equivocation. He often praises conservative politicians in the US, IF they work with him on a particular project....I’ve heard him over the years praise Rick Santorum, Jesse Helms and George W. Bush.
This is something that 100% liberals are unable to do.
So I think - hope - that you might be right.
The band’s response to Paris was very good, as well. (They are after all, a band...given that, they did what they could).
Finally....Bono’s views on Ireland/UK/the North over the years have also been nuanced....they have never been in the tank for one side or the other.
So again....I hope you are right!
Interestingly...during the Innocence and Experience tour, while the crisis was going on, but before Paris, he was absolutely talking about an open Europe, where everyone is welcomed.
After Paris...I don’t recall him saying much. So I’m not sure we can say what his views are, at this time.
But that Europe’s very existence is on the line, is clearly the case.
Yes, we Americans are so out of it, we have no idea what's going on in the world until issues are summarized and explained to use very slowly by an incoherent foreign rock star.
It's not like global immigration has even been mentioned in our party nominating contests.
wow! He seems so sincere.
Because of the invading hordes, every week will have SUNDAY BLOODY SUNDAY
The liberals will be the first to go.
When East Germany fell it was discovered that many of the top leaders had 60-120 million stashed in Swiss Banks. I remember 6-7 being mentioned including Markus Wolf and Erich Honecker
People with their HAND OUT always do.
He chooses his words very carefully, and if unsure about what to say, shuts up altogether. Quite the contrast with other rock stars in the news lately.
Plus, tabloid hit-pieces not withstanding, he has a 30+ year history of public philanthropy that he has skillfully leveraged for worthy causes.
He's a very accomplished man who has walked the walk.
He’s a liberal in the process of being mugged by reality.
Islam and its adherents must be put down until Allah is worshipped only in hell.
I never hear anything about how Ireland is being affected by the terrorist influx.
Agreed.
AND......they’ve put out some pretty good music at the same time.....
