P-M, I don’t see how it’s fair to take one item and run with it, and ignore the others.
And, for the record, he did not say at any point in that interview “I never asked for forgiveness...”
So, it isn’t even a valid takeaway.
You would be screaming bloody murder if these were accusations against a client, and you had this transcript.
I always advise my clients to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Maybe that's bad legal advice, but then I know that it is better to be upfront and honest so that you don't get caught in a lie on the stand.
I would not try to spin those statements like some here have done. The fact of the matter is that when you dodge a simple question like "have you ever asked God for forgiveness" and then say you don't know, then you come off sounding like Hillary Clinton at the Benghazi hearings.
