I always advise my clients to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Maybe that's bad legal advice, but then I know that it is better to be upfront and honest so that you don't get caught in a lie on the stand.
I would not try to spin those statements like some here have done. The fact of the matter is that when you dodge a simple question like "have you ever asked God for forgiveness" and then say you don't know, then you come off sounding like Hillary Clinton at the Benghazi hearings.
