Cruz, Rubio join forces in Arkansas to block Trump delegates
Washington Examiner ^ | 4/12/16 | David M. Drucker

Ted Cruz's and Marco Rubio's supporters have teamed up in Arkansas to pack the state delegation with individuals who'll turn against Donald Trump in a contested convention.

Since Rubio ended his presidential bid March 15, his network of party insiders has lined up behind Cruz to win delegates who'd vote for the Texas senator once they're no longer bound to Trump in a floor fight. Trump won Arkansas' GOP primary March 1 with 32.8 percent of the vote compared to Cruz's 30.5 percent and Rubio's 24.9 percent. But Cruz's canny operatives, with Rubio riding shotgun, is likely to thwart Trump in the delegate election.

For someone who is trying to sell himself as an outsider who will put an end to the political corruption, he sure acts like an insider who knows how to game the system of political corruption. Maybe it is those holier than thou evangelical values he is always espousing.

Republican “Dream Team” for the future, two Hispanic-American candidates...

Trump has totally alienated the Hispanic vote with his over-the-top rhetoric about all the rapists and murderers coming over the Souther border...

Cruz and Rubio could help fix that problem long term for the GOP...it can start with getting younger voters engaged....

The contrast of two bright, young, charismatic, visionary candidates would be stark against the old, worn-out, corrupt, leftist hag...

Hillary would be forced to pander by choosing one of the Castro brothers...Wow! Three forty-something hispanics and the 70-year old lesbian granny...Ay caramba!

Ya’ll just get ready for Madame President. Thanks Ted and Marco. You did your job well and I am sure you both will be compensated handsomely.

He only received 37% of the vote because there were 17 candidates initially. As candidates continue to drop out, like detesTED, Trump’s numbers will go up.

Ummm, Cruz got 30%, Rubio got 25%, totaling 55%. The Donald got 32%, more than either Cruz or Rubio but nowhere near their total. He ran his mouth non-stop against both Cruz and Rubio, refused to understand or apply party rules, and just has folks out their braying about his irrelevant sliver of a lurality over Cruz. Then comes the obligatory claim that Rubio's delegates were STOLEN from Trump because, well just BECAUSE, and he is, somehow, entitled to the votes that were enthusiastically cast against him to be counted FOR him. Otherwise, the irrational claim that "the voters" are somehow being ignored.

What if Trump gets 32% and ONLY 32% of the delegates reflecting the fact that he got 32% and ONLY 32% of the support of the voters? Rubio's supporters, after the first ballot or two are FREE to vote for whomever THEY choose. Those are the rules even if they do not give The Entitled Donald anything he wants just because he wants. Trump, in rounding up delegates is strictly amateur hour. Manafort will probably improve that but in many places it is too late for even Manafort to save him.

Rules count. Credentials count. Issues count. They always have and, God willing, they always will. Maye The Donald can ribe the delegates. Isn't that how he gets zoning approval for his projects?

Whining is not attractive.

There is no republican party. It has always been a ruse that we all fell for. Democrat and republican are just words created to give the appearance that we have a choice. We have no choice.

Whine, moan, bitch, complain? Have any of the 1.5 million lawsuits NOT been dismissed or, more relevantly, has any judge ANYWHERE ruled in favor of Birther Fantasyland? Of course not! Maybe your god will have to win on actual issues rather than these pathetic attempts to try to disqualify any opponent.

Since Hillary invented this Birther crap to use against Obozo, you can bet The Donald won't be able to disqualify her with this nonsense.

Also, another diplomat heard from. You sure now how to unite the party behind YOUR candidate. You make us Cruz supporters sooooo eager to vote for The Donald with each new insult.

If Cruz voters, i.e. the CONSERVATIVES GTFO, Trump might draw 30% of the general election. He would make another businessman but political amateur Wendell Willke look like a political colossus. It never ceases to amaze me how utterly undiplomatic you guys are towards the voters that the false god needs.
