Certainly poor timing, to say the least. And Phyllis was calling them out earlier today by name, because they’d disconnected her from a BoD conference call when she pushed back, and previously were not returning her calls, emails, etc.
She commented in an earlier statement that they had no authority to dismiss paid staff, so this sounds like it had been brewing.
Seems like they could have handled Ed Martin without treating their founder so shabbily.
She was treated shabbily by Ed Martin, not the board. He maneuvered his intentions in order to make EF a tool for himself. A real sweet talker. He took advantage of her and he is out because the women on the board did the right thing.
