Despite Complaints, Delegate System Has Given Trump a 22 Percent Bonus NBC. April 11, 2016 BY ARI MELBER
Donald Trump blasted the GOP's delegate rules Sunday, saying a "corrupt" system is denying him delegates in states he won. According to a new NBC analysis, however, Trump has benefited far more than Ted Cruz under the party's arcane rules for allocating delegates.
Trump now leads the Republican field with 756 delegates or 45 percent of all delegates awarded to date. Yet he has won about 37 percent of all votes in the primaries, according to the NBC analysis, meaning Trump's delegate support is greater than his actual support from voters.
For each percentage point of total primary votes that Trump has won, he has been awarded 1.22 percent of the total delegates.
In other words, as a matter of Republican Party math, Trump has been awarded a delegate bonus of 22 percent above his raw support from voters. By contrast, Cruz has been awarded about 1.14 percent of the delegates for each percentage point of votes he has won a delegate bonus of 14 percent above his raw support.

But the real problem is that if it is Trump or Cruz so much damage has been done to these 2 candidates, that will cause problems for them in the General Election. If someone else becomes the nominee, it only aides to elect the Democrat nominee. Basically the Super PACs have ruined the chances of a Republican candidate winning.
Well I like to deal in reality and the reality is that Trump will be at or near 1237 on June 7th. At that point if he is 50 or so delegates short its an easy makeup. He either captures the needed number by seducing a few of the unbound delegates or offers Kasich VP which is what he wants and gets the makeup number from Kasich’s 143 delegates.
Cruz if he is dumb enough to try to stay in it til June 7th which I hightly doubt will be hundreds of delegates short and no way to make it up.
Trump wins on the first ballot and we all move on to the general election.
The problem is he as to be at least at 1,237, any less and I think it may spell doom for him.. We shall see I guess. Hope you are right though.
You lecture on what is "real", and in the same sentence you imply that the "majority" wants who? Trump??
Trump certainly shouldn't be funding the corrupt, globalist Clinton Fund and funding big government Democrats throughout country. He already has billions. Why the h*ell would he need to fund the destruction of our country??
The majority of votes cast for Republican candidates, but you knew that. You’re just pretending ignorance. Trump has almost 2 million more votes than Ted, who has garnered the second highest, so far. That is a reality.
Well like I said it will be easy to use those weeks before the convention to cut a deal for a few delegates. The problem is for a guy like Cruz who will need hundreds. I think it will all work out.
Quit putting words in my mouth, you're not smart enough.
Trump has NOT received the majority of the vote. He has received 37% of the vote. That is the "reality". I shouldn't even have to be telling you that. And I shouldn't be stupidly accused of "pretending Ignorance" because I understand the simple correct meaning of the word "majority". Should I accuse you of "pretending ignorance"?? Or are you really that ignorant?
Now run along and be yourself, because you think your are smarter than you are.
Meriam Webster.
Now run along and be yourself, because you think your are smarter than you are.
LOL. No, just smarter than you.
It is amazing that so many people don’t even know the definition of simple English words like “majority” and “plurality” - and then embarrass themselves by making ignorant statements like he did...
If Trump gets to 1237, then Cruz and Kasich should drop out. Until then, no one has won the nomination, so they should keep fighting, even if that means an open convention.

Perhaps - but Kasich's delegates are not obligated to vote for Trump just because he tells them to. And if Cruz is as good at getting his supporters selected as Kasich delegates as he has been about getting his supporters selected as Trump delegates, then there is a lot smaller pool of votes to be picked up by choosing Kasich as VP.
If Trump gets to 1237 then there is no need for them to drop out. But then again you had to have followed the entire thread, to know why that question was asked in the first place.
Which by definition must be 50% +1. If you combine the votes of all of the other candidates, it is more than Trump has received, so by your own definition, Trump has not received a majority - and cannot receive a majority unless he gets more than 50%.
My point is that they should not drop out unless Trump gets to 1237 - until then, no one has won the nomination.
That's not the definition. It looks like you left off the "a number more than half of the total" clause in the definition from theFreeDictionary.com.
"in the majority of cases all will go smoothly"
If 49% of the cases go smoothy, that's NOT an example of a "majority" of cases.
No, again just obtuse:
I would call you obtuse, but that would be unfair to people who are obtuse.
You are utterly stuck on stupid.
It's stunning
