Agreed. Based on the FRaddict’s report, Trump’s organization did not have enough people present to FILL his entitled delegates.
He’s not entitled to delegates, he is entitled (by way of the primary results) to first ballot votes by a certain number of delegates.
Actually deciding who those delegates are is by the process described in the original post. You have to show up, get nominated as a delegate and then get voted on by the people who do bother to show up.

Not really how it worked. Everyone was in the pile together. There was no Trump quota or Ted Cruz quota.
The next selection will be the “At Large” delegates at the state level. I had tried to find out how the system worked before I went down, but I really wasn’t getting any help from the local people. I didn’t even know how the selection process worked. So I didn’t have a speech prepared. I didn’t have anyone set up for seconding my nomination. I didn’t have a prepared list of Trump supporters like the Cruz supporters had. It was easy to see who the Cruz supporters were since they all had on Cruz buttons.
