machine gun nests should be set up a certain distance from each other to cover the boarder.

There are machine guns so it is certainly possible to build a nest for one but you can’t raise little machine guns in it.
I’m all for burying landmines along the border. Those plus the machine guns should take care of things. Napalm works miracles too.
