I’m assuming it is a second round ballot.
As long as the GOPe gets rid of Trump, it’s a win-win for them. They know that Cruz will lose the general, because he couldn’t stand up to 48 hours of the incoming that Trump has had coming his way for months. Then, they not only get to keep their jobs, because Hillary won, but they’ll also get to hold Cruz’ Goldwater-like loss over the heads of ‘uppity’ conservatives. They’ll fulfill their own prophecy that a ‘conservative’ can’t win.
If by some miracle, Cruz did pull it off, they own him, so he does their bidding. And he’ll call it ‘true conservatism’ while doing it, so they’ll get to destroy that meaningless term even more.
And when you’ve torn down the GOP and divided the electorate on the right, what is to stop the left from ruling with ease?
You given any thought to what comes after you have destroyed the party on the right?
I agree. They’re all a bunch GOPe misfits IMO.
Though I do not like amnesty boy Rubio very much at all, I will gladly suffer him as the vice president for two reasons. First, Hillary isn’t going to pick him. That means that a Republican is in the White House, a Republican is picking Supreme Court Justices, and a Republican is deciding on our foreign affairs and defense policy. Second, it would mean that Donald Trump would be the president - because Cruz will never pick him, either - not after the allegations about him cheating on his wife which everyone knows originated with the Rubio campaign.
Rubio is also an extremely well-spoken person, he has excellent legislative experience and he speaks to the type of foreign and defense policy that I like. His major flaw is on amnesty. He will have to demonstrate to the public that he sees the error of his ways with the Gang of Eight. By the way, even if he is a big liar on that issue which would not surprise me at all), after 8 years of Trump controlling immigration and getting good results in a variety of areas because of that, he will face some opposition toward an open borders policy. This will be similar to the opposition to tax increases after 8 years under Reagan.
Who should be making the rules about the convention?
Whatever deal Cruz made with the GOPe to get their backing for NeverTrump apparently did not include his winning the nomination.

Not so. It has nothing to do with someone reaching 1237. Kasich is already eliminated, Cruz will be eliminated as soon as. someone else gets 32 delegates - almost certainly April 19th. Trump will not be eliminated until there are fewer left than what he needs to reach 1237.
If by some miracle, Cruz did pull it off, they own him, so he does their bidding. And hell call it true conservatism while doing it, so theyll get to destroy that meaningless term even more.
It is clear, or should be, that Cruz sold out to the GOPe. The only question being the sale price.
Cruz aint dead. Especially after the SC delegate credentials are challenged. Eisenhower used credentials in 52.
Yes. But Ironically, I only want Cruz as elected VP and not destroyed.
The leader going into the convention.
Why should a loser be making them?
now we are thinking. The rubio card is easy to play. It must be joined with”persuading” delegates, which is easy. We are going to win this thing the hard way but we are going in win. Cruz has had his 15 minutes — It’s time to “Make America Great Again”!! Go Trump!! NEW YORK NEW YORK!!
BTW:
I was going to look you back up and apologize to an extent.
This may look like I am very against you. I am against a guy who has revealed his character as Ted has, to be anywhere near the processes of the convention.
Your 112 Committee idea may be a good one. I don’t know. I am just leery of Ted being in on that sort of thing.
I don’t trust him any farther than I can drop kick him.

Why do people here keep talking about candidates being “eliminated”? If no candidate attains 1237 delegates before the convention, then NO candidate is eliminated, and it goes to the convention, where anything can happen.
Dude. Julius Ceasar is not going to be our SOLE savior, although he can play a role...
Folks, do you have any concept of the reality that the GOPe is at this moment finagling to defeat our first chance at neutering them in 28 years?
Cruz is dead. He can chance everything on self-interest, but by rights he should realize what he is doing, and refuse to be the agent of the GOPe.
That’s all he can be at this point. If the GOPe gets a chance it is going to screw Cruz as well as Trump.
This is what folks are risking by rooting Ted on.
How is Trump going to convince “little Marco” to go with him?
That may make sense to you.
Yes. If we the voters can coalesce behind fundamental truths once again, we will have a party that lives on. The problem now is that both parties fail to represent the people.
The name of the party doesn't matter. What matters is that we are not being represented and that for years we are forced into a position wherein we have to choose the lesser of the two evils.
Look what's happening on the left. They are embracing full on socialism. That's an easy fight to win.
